I've just been reading NH's batrep and something occured to me regarding the ideal of Patient hunter/killing blow vs. manouverability of the Tau list.
Given that Tau are supposedly experts at this how would the ?introduction of an army list special rule that let's the Tau move/fire or fire/move sound?
It's not exactly like the Eldar rule of move/fire/move or move/move/fire - it's kinda one step down - but it could give the Tau a manouverability they seem to lack especially given their less than stellar assault capabilities.
any thoughts?

Move fire is just advance isn't it? Its not something I would add as while MFM represents firing whilst moving swiftly, FM doesn't seem to be any different time/speed wise than if you joined the game halfway through an action and counted from there. I can't see how it would be justified for just the Tau rather than just being a varient of advance.
And then there is epic's 'no special rules unless you have to' policy.

The only time I could see this used effectivly is if you could move after firing on overwatch. Basically ducking into cover after you are in the open. Probably too powerful though, but would be the only reason I would use it.

Well usewise it is essentially to prevent things sustaining fire at you - say leman russ comes out of cover the hammerhead can fire and the move back. It sacrifices its sustaining fire attack to prevent the tank company sustaining fire back at it - they have to move again to get back into range.
Still of fairly limited use, and not something that is really needed I don't think
