Just a quick question seeking advice frm more experienced players about the make up of your recon formations. What typically do you take with your recon units? 6 Tetras, 6 Piranhas or if a mix how do you split? I have been thinking a 4/2 split either way as having the markerlights from the tetras is great but the firepower from the piranhas is quite worthwhile. So how do you guys do it? |

6 x Piranha can sustain fire and shoot 6 x AT4+ up to 90cm onto a markerlit formation, closest tau get to arty formations. 5 x Piranha and 1 x tetra can do this as part of initiating a combined fire activation. 6 x Tetra can markerlight formations and push out annoying scout screens; 5 x Tetra and 1 x Piranha can do just about the same and shoot out to 90cm. |

I use two formations of 5 Piranha and 1 Tetra which sit back and fire missile salvos and then can go forward and mark when required and a third formation of 3 Piranha and 3 Tetra which can garrison forward of the main army. |

If there is anything spare we should be able to work something out  I know I have 2 Piranhas and a Tetra here now. I'll contact Matt and find out. |
