Does being 10cm into a terrain feature block LoS to/from a support craft or not? |

I don't believe you can ever block LoS to a Support Craft. A Moray can always see (And kill) you. ![]() |

Well the main rules state: "Buildings, rubble, woods, fortifications and the like don’t block the line of fire to or from units that are in the terrain itself unless the line of fire passes through more than 10cms of the terrain feature" So the answer to your question TRC is YES if they are more than 10cm in. Buildings have roofs, Woods tend to have canopies afterall.... |

That would be I feel the common sense rule - would this then also apply to firing stuff like deathstrikes? |

Dobbsy: The Support Craft rule specifically overrides the normal LoS rules. The relevant quote: Support craft remain high up in the air, this means they can always draw a line of fire to any target and vice versa, like aircraft. So the Morays can always kill your Deathstrikes, regardless of how deep into the woods they're hiding, sorry Chris. Steve54: Technically true.  ![]() |

I thought aircraft can't see you if you are 10cm into a terrain feature I thought? One for the SG rules forum methinks. |

AFAIK you can never block LoF to aircraft. |

Well the Support craft rule isn't well written is it? I don't think the intention was that you can see everything on the board like x-ray vision. I think it means you can see everything that isn't in hiding (going by the rules)... Playing it the other way seems a little beardy to me and I would take umbrage with it if someone tried to play it that way on me.... Why would the Aircraft/Support craft rule override the main rule of LOS? Aircraft historically have had terrible target recognition. |

Isn't the intention a bit like giving the support craft "indirect" - so it can ignore the effects of LOS? However, if the target is actually in the terrain, then it must benefit from 1.8.2, making the target slightly harder to hit doesn't it? |

I'm with Ginger on this one. Not exactly as clear cut as I originally thought though... ![]() |

I'm pretty sure those cad support craft can always take a shot at you, but you at least get cover saves if you have one. |

You can't hit what you cant see. It'd be ridiculous to play it otherwise. 10cm of cover is big chunk of distance in game scale. Try seeing/shooting through 500m of Concrete or wood.  Likewise, looking the other way on the two-way rifle range.... I would have guessed the indirect fire rule simulates high arcing rounds that plummet directly down onto a target area not shoot directly at something. If the support craft rule is written correctly it needs an adjustment. |

from the Tau support Craft rule. Support craft remain high up in the air, this means they can always draw a line of fire to any target and vice versa, like aircraft. I would say that Support Craft as well as Aircraft can target units more than 10 cm into a terrain feature. We have to remeber that they are not targeting the units from ground level but from high up so their attacks wouldn't be going through more than 10cm of terrain but only a few cm from their attack level. |
