Doesn't make the tau jetpack rule any less broken though.

Unfortunately for you it's not broken.

Many would disagree with you there.

Saying that this is broken (without any evidence)

To be fair, the evidence provided by my gaming group (Dozens of games including the Tau) is not nothing.

I would be interested if you'd post battle report with pictures so that one could assess the use of the broken rule and your enemy. That would help you prove your case. so far though that hasn't happened.

Yeah, none of us can be arsed. :D

At the last discussion with CS, he was hesitant to move the Tau into a supplement until Specialist Games was given a fair opportunity to do something.  That was over a year ago that he mentioned it though.

IMO any Tau supplement needs to include the Elysians which are terribly overpowered at the moment (at least according to the AC champ, Honda, who has been quiet these days).  I do have about 6 art pieces for the Tau ready and with permission if things ever move on the supplement though.

Well, SG won't be making the Tau official, ever, so the way for a Tau Supplement is open again.

It depends really, Taros is quite a small campaign, these were the participating armies:

- A 'codex' marines chapter.
- Several Tank Regiments (Already covered by the Minervans)
- A Tallarn light infantry Regiment.
- Elysian Drop Troopers

- Tau

Since the Taros background is already written, I reckon something bigger could be done for Epic?

And yeah, the Elysians are quite overpowered IIRC, and didn't recieve much playtesting too.

Personally I think it would be interesting to do a suppliment that didn't feature yet another IG varient list. I think we have quite enough of those already.

Tau vs Chaos vs Nids or something could be fun.

Technically they already are. Forgeworld printed a Tau list in the Taros Campaign book, though some may have called it a teensy bit overpowered......

Ho hum...

I wouldn't want to be responsible for writing that fictional story.  One of the key elements of almost all good science fiction is the human element - something to contrast the aliens and alien technology against.  It may just be my preference but I like the idea of having some IG or Space Marines at least (Scions?).

The story from the viewpoint of a Tau Human Auxiliary would work...?

I guess you did. The forgeworld taros campaign book contains a printed EA Tau list, an extremely badly thought out one.
