One battleship per millennia, a rough minimum of a million planets in the Imperium (based on the "less than one marine per planet" quote, and a thousand chapters of a thousand marines) = 100+ new battleships per year, if every planet in the Imperium could build a battleship. How many imperial planets can actually build a BB? If that answer is one in a hundred, then that's only 1-2 new BB per year *for the entire Imperium*. If only one planet in a thousand can build a BB, then it's 1-2 new battleships every 10 years or so.
How many BBs have the Tau built in one Imperial year, and how much larger a percentage of their planets are producing them?
