Ok, fair enough Neal but ~6 Orcas dropping onto an objective with a defending unit (or 2) already there (like I said, plan for it) would be able to grab the objective? No, of course not, it becomes contested. Do they then stay there at end turn? No they have to disengage. Objective stays with defending unit - no contest.
Ok had my say. As usual, no point trying to change anyone's mind - we all have our own views and we all like to stick to them.
Orca can become a transport option for a middle ground, I guess, seeing as so many cheesy players actually use this tactic....

The problem is, some cheese-monkey will use this tactic at a major tournament, and proceed to :cuss off every opponent he has. Which will raise a hue and cry about 'why didn't the list designers fix this problem' instead of analysing what they did wrong to defend against it happening in the future.
Fact: The Orca's a taxi, and isn't really designed for combat drops. Sometimes Murphy happens, and you need to use an Orca for a Hot Drop (like redeploying those Broadsides). I still don't see the point of spending all my support points on units that can only grab objectives late in the game. This isn't Song Tay, I'm not crash-landing an Orca into the middle of your forces to make a surprise party. I need my air support, and my support craft. IF I have points left (wait, I usually do save the hundred points for the Orca), then I'll add an Orca-borne Broadside unit.
Hmmmmmm... I may have to design an entirely Orca-borne force, call it my 'Ride of the Valkyries' force. Just to test this discussion under conditions of maximum abuse.
