I would like to share these with you but I know that I would be shouted down by a couple of individuals and ignored by others, so I won't even bother.

I ended up not caring some time ago, mostly due to a now-18-month-old personal reason. Trying to provide feedback and bounce ideas on these boards is really tiresome. I've mostly stopped; occasionally, when prodded by Hena or rpr, I write something and then try to forget it. Getting into arguments here almost always feels like a waste of time and almost always seems to merely result in frustration.

That said -- I believe CS reads all feedback carefully and at least tries to not give too much weight to those who keep saying their piece the longest.

I've also ended up doing non-Epic projects for quite some time. Perhaps it is just time to move on.

I think the point that Dobbsy is trying to make is that you guys have been arguing/discussing/debating the finer (or not) points of the list for two years now...but you still aren't playing the list. It's been almost a year since the last time I poked in here and you're still in the same place.

This isn't life or death, it's a game.

See you in a year...maybe.

In the meantime, I'm going to go back to the earlier 4.4 list and enjoy playing it. It was still fun.

Do you mean that there has been a lot of discussion with little actual playtest experience behind it? If you do, then I totally agree. One thing that I would really like more of is reports from 'real' games where the consequences are noted.

While I agree more playtest needs to be done, leaving the forum because you don't like some small portion of the discussions is a bit childish IMO.  Its like cancelling your cable because you don't like the programming on the E! channel.  The people here are generally friendly and the forum provides a wealth of knowledge.  If you don't like the direction a thread is going then chime in. Or don't read it!  Just because it has something to do with your favorite army doesn't mean that you HAVE to make a stand.

There needs to be a degree of trust that the army champ will do the right thing for the list.  Either you trust him or you don't.  If you don't then make your own list or ignore the threads entirely.  If you do trust him you can always PM the champ in private and say, "BTW I think this whole thread is stupid and is way too much for us typical fans, blah blah blah)."

The perfect example for this is the Banshee powersword discussion.  Congressional volumes were written on this miserable little 6mm figure.  While I participated in the discussion initially, I got really annoyed with the ad nauseum arguments.  So I said my peace, I let the Eldar Army Champ know how I felt about it, and I left it alone.  I never went back to the thread.  I didn't quit TacCom over it.

It is the beauty of forum discussion: you can walk away.  I find it quite humorous to have one die-hard freak posting three or four times in a row, almost responding to himself because people have walked away from the discussion.  (At one point I think I was that freak on some Dark Eldar discussions  )

Dobbsy, Honda, come back and play in the sandbox.  It is big enough to avoid the corners you don't like. :D
