Asaura,

The crisis suit weapons origin I really don't recall. I trust your memory on this as it seems you have a recollection of the topic. For the record - I'm with you. I'm all for making any changes to notes and giving credit where its due.

Just an observation, the list does say "By Jervis Johnson", then it says modified by... etc. One may think that any references to "I" would be from the author's point of view - right?

Regarding FF downgrade and inflated ranges/effectiveness, etc in the Tau shooting when converted from 40K to Epic based upon other races and their converstions - point well made and understood. Nobody wants to see Tau assaulting in epic on the scale that other forces do or using that as a primary mode of engagement. From the Tau's perspective, the perspective of most formatons considering Tau engagement should be only because theirs nothing better to do! ;)

Cheers,

Comparisons aren't always that good.

Plasma guns are AP5+/AT5+, but then Missile launchers are AP5+/AT6+. Plasma is only S7, but have the same AT as a lascannon. Lascannons can threaten a Land Raider in 40K, whereas plasma guns can't touch it.

But there is quite a difference between S6 and S7 in 40K. It's the difference between being able to seriously threaten an A12 armoured vehicle, and whether they can affect an A13 vehicle at all. Not that that is necessarily realistic, but hey.

It seems that imperial plasma tech in Epic:A mirrors the plasma tech as described in previous editions of WH40K: a weapon capable of inflicting great damage but reloads slowly. (Str10, D10 damage but slow firing if I recall the old plasma cannon statline correctly).

I must admit that like a lot of Tau weapons the plasma rifle is hard to define correctly, but I don't see a particular need to change it for the moment. Changing the 'feel' of the weapon for another equivelent 'feel' is not enougth to justify a change.
