Does exactly what it says on the tin.

If you can post, as a minimum, game size, opposition and objectives held by either side, along with the turn the game ended, that'd be brilliant.

I'd also appreciate any army lists people can include, along with thoughts on individual formation performance.

If you could please also indicate if you've submitted the game to Battlestats or not, then that'd be cool.

Dysartes, sounds like a pleasant turn around of fortunes for your AMTL :)

Change of tactics or forces?

Which game, dptdxys? I can do the Eldar one with no problems, but I'm not so certain about the IG list.

You may recognise some of these fits, dptdxys :)

5000pts AMTL

Legio formations

Warlord Titan with 2 Quake Cannon, Barrage Missile Launcher and Carapace Landing Pad. has a Legate. 950pts

Reaver Titan with 2 Turbo-Laser Destructors, Plasma Cannon and Carapace Multilasers - 700pts

Reaver Titan with Melta Cannon, Laser Burner and Corvus Assault Pod. Also has a Sacred Icon - 700pts

Reaver Titan with 2 Turbo-Laser Destructors and a Volcano Cannon - 650pts

Ordinatus Golgotha - 550pts

Auxilia Formations

Warhound with Light Vulcan Mega Bolter & Plasma Blastgun - 250pts

Warhound with Light Vulcan Mega Bolter & Plasma Blastgun - 250pts

Warhound with Light Vulcan Mega Bolter & Plasma Blastgun - 250pts

Warhound with Light Vulcan Mega Bolter & Light Inferno Gun - 250pts

Flak Battery - 150pts

Flak Battery - 150pts

Mobile Field Gun Battery (3 Mole Mortars) - 150pts

Total 5000pts

Worryingly, I outactivated the Eldar player.....

Edit

Just noticed your comment clausewitz. TBH, it was a bit of both. I mixed up my forces for the IG game, dropping Knights entirely and fetching the Ordinatus (Mars in this case) back into play, which definately worked. I think I had more of a game plan - in the 5k games earlier, that had kinda gone out of the window, which is never a good thing.

In the 5k game yesterday, I selected a more efficient force (looking at the Warlord's fit, plus the single Warhounds), and had a battleplan thought out based on previous games against this opponent and his tendency to hide behind buildings. Forcing him to do something else thanks to the indirect fire meant I was on the front foot and he was on the back foot.

I don't think it'd've made much difference, but he forgot the Avatar on one turn, then didn't have a Farseer to use with it on the table in turn 3, which possibly saved a Warhound.

I also managed to increase my activation advantage as the game went on, either breaking or destroying formations with barrage attacks as and when I could, and using direct fire / assaults if needed (esp. from that FF Reaver). This enabled me to limit my opponents ability to plan his attacks as he never knew what he'd have to activate.....

Ortron,

Wow, 7 ground activations @ 4k.  That seems rather low, even for AMTL.

Can you tell us what the Black Templar list was like (any THAs?)?  And why they (apparently) did so poorly?

Played 3 games at the conneticut tournament Moscovian organized. Won all three. Used the following list:

Legio Vindex
3,000 Points.

Warlord "Cruentus Manus" w/ Laser Burner, Melta-Cannon, 2x TLD, Legate. (950)

Warlord "Tempestas Ruina" w/ 2x Quake Cannon, 1x Chain Fist, 1x CPL. (850)

Warhound Pack w/ 2x Light Inferno Gun, 2x Light TLD. (500)

Knights Paladin w/ 3x Knights Paladin (250)

Knights Lancer w/ 3x Knights Lancer (250)

Recon Cohort (100)

Recon Cohort (100)

First game saw me against IG, went 3/0 (BTS, TnH, Blitz) in Turn 4. Second game was against Chaos, with the same results as the first. Third was against another IG which ended on Turn 3 with 4/0 for AMTL (BTS, TnH, Blitz, TSNP).

Was a potent sweep, but the majority hinged on a few good dice rolls on my part/bad dice rolls on opponent's parts. And the choices of my enemies. The first game was really won for me by the artillery titan which killed DwarfSupreme's Supreme Commander, and broke the formation. That meant no re-roll, and on the second turn he bombed almost every activation. The fact that his Deathstrikes did so poorly and Shadowswords as well helped a LOT. Neither did any appreciable damage at all. The second game was a lot closer, I lost a lot more that game and the game really came down to a strategy roll after ToadChild teleported in his Chosen onto my FF Warlord. I won, the Warlord obliterated his Chosen. The final game against ePilgrim was more or less a total turkey shoot. The only damage he really did to me was placing a lot of blastmarkers with Manticores, and managing to almost kill my artillery titan (Left it with 1 DC at the end of the game), but he more or less left the Knights and close-range Warlord alone... What amazed me was that people really ignored the Knights for the most part during the tournament in favor of trying to kill my Titans. The Knights Lancer were broken in the first game as DS shot at them with his Flak Battery and killed one. None of them died in the second game (Infact the Lancers got me BTS by assaulting into ToadChild's huge infantry formation and wiping it out down to just one Defiler). And the third game was a little closer. The Lancers killed ePilgrim's Shadowsword, I don't think the paladins did anything important that game except wipe a unit of Rough Riders which charged them. The Lancers took heavy casualties though (They had one guy left, and he was broken, at the end of the game.) For the most part I suspect I won more on the shock-value of the list then on the actual power of my particular combination. No one there had played against AMTL under the current rules as far as I know other they Corey, and I never fought him (Thankfully!). Most of the others fell heavily into the 'Kill the Titans!' pit trap and left my Knights largely alone. The Sentinels are awe-inspiring on the battlefield. Not for being particularly powerful or endurant (They more or less did no damage at all to the  enemy in any game, they mostly just died), but for being able to garrison the mid-line and force the enemy to waste a turn shooting at a 100 point unit of sentinels with a 300-400 point garrisson force while my titans walk up to attack them.

Given a rematch, I'm sure I would fair better. I couldn't do much worse.  :D

Well, I'm hoping to give you that chance sometime in the next few months! Probably in August at some point... I need to find out what is going on that month and see if I can reserve us some space...

I'm not sure I can make a trip down your way to play, but I am planning on going to the tourney in Albany during Columbus Day weekend.

Pretty strong results for AMTL list so far. From what I hear this is pretty standard. I know games can be close even when they are a 3-0 result but have these games been like that or is it a walk in, Dysartes? A local player who uses AMTL believes they are a bit "wrong". Does anyone else think this way? I am yet to face them so have only one opinion to go by. Cheers
