Am I reading this list correctly and the Warhound and Reavers have no weapons that are the same?

What happens to all those Warhounds and Reavers I have that do?

OR are you saying they may "look" the same and just have lighter stats because of the Titan they are mounted on?

I'll stop there to wait for some clarification.

Err. Yes. ?Spot on.

As I recall the discussion from 'ye olde AMTL forum' the consensus was that the stats of a weapon could be determined by the Titan carrying it. ?I'm not saying everyone agrees with this, but it let us move on and define the Seperate Scout Weapons with less hassle. ?Which was a good thing IMO. ?Well, with a little less hassle, I still remember trying to make the case for using the Flamer Template with the Scout Inferno Gun, that was hard work.

It does contradict the principle of 1 model cannot represent 2 sets of stats in the same game, but for many of us it's an acceptable exception. ?So for those of us with old style models a Metal Vulcan Mega Bolter on a Waround has different Stats to a Metal Vulcan Mega Bolter on a Reaver even when used in the same game.

Simple.

So Dafcra are you confused now?

Nope. I understand it. No saying I agree with it nor do I like it, but I understand now.

I would bet this one has a hard time getting past the Rules Committee. I think the one mini, one set of stats is very important as WYSIWYG is and has always been important to GW.

Its due to the lower power output of the Warhounds reactor. Also play balance issues.

dafcra - It's still one model, one set of stats - or at least, the one name, one set of stats rule is being obeyed. I also doubt, given that the weapon is on a different chassis, that ti will cause as much trouble as you might think.

I may well email JJ and check he has no problems with it, though. Bearing in mind that v1 got past him with differentiated weapons, I think we're OK. The difference in v2 is that we've completed the split, which is a balance issue - 60cm weapons on a 35cm chassis causes problems they don't on a 20cm or 15cm chassis, hence having the different stats.

Well, as far as I am concerned ... the old metal weapons will be the same, regardless of what they are mounted on. Save possibly for weapons grade.  The same goes for all the other Titan weapons, regardless. E:A did pretty good job listing most of the old weapons from SM1 on.  Why reinvent the wheel and muddy the waters !  :;):

I can understand the need to balance the weapons based on the speed issue, but on the other hand I do not like the idea that I need to try and remember that weapon X mini on an old Warhound is one set of stats, but the same mini on the Reaver is another, more powerful set of stats.

I would be curious to see what JJ says about it.

I agree with you, dafrca. I, too, understand the need to balance the weapons, but I don't like the idea of the same weapon having different stats depending on what titan it's on.

It doesn't. Its a new weapon that happens to look alot like the older weapon.

Given the difference in the chassis, I rather doubt it will be difficult to keep sorted out.

I was going to go further, but I just realized I do not care that much.

If the list ends up with a Turbo Laser Destructor that has one set of stats on a Warhound and another on a Reaver, it does not matter that much. There are other things more in need of discussion then this.

Agreed. There are more important issues.

Hey Daniel!!! ?Good to see you are still around!

If you remember my mathematical system, the problem was that the Warhounds were agreed to be worth the 250 points with their original weapons that had a Firepower Potential of around 6. ?The Warlords and Reavers were judged to be not worth their points and the Jervis Power Boost brought their Firepower Potential up to 8. ?So what do you do if you have Reavers and old Warhound miniatures that have the same weapon bits? ?Nobody wanted to raise the firepower of the Warhound, so the consensus of making the Warhound weapons similar looking, differently titled was agreed upon. ?It still has not been well developed in my opinion, but at least there is something out there for people to fight unfair battles with...
