AT is the oldest Epic game and passions seem to run deep over this :)

You are sooo right, TRC!    I might be passionate about it, but I am also open-minded enough to compromise.

1, I'm resigned to the fact that no matter what I do with the little beggars, I won't get everyone to be happy with them

2, I'm keeping them as is for v2, but part of the "playtest focus" for v2 will be the Knights and the Ordinatus

3, There's two ways of looking at "numerous" in terms of something in Epic - number of models and umber of formations. Looking at the WIP file I put up, you get one unit of non-Paladin Knights for each Paladin unit you get - meaning, at worst, it is a 1-1 Paladin-other ratio. Yes, the Lancers and errants may nd up with more individuals, but this is partially due to them being new units at full strength - if you're looked at the 40k Space Wolves codex, for instance, you get more Blood Claws in a squad than you do Grey Hunters, because theGrey Hunters have suffered attrition.

Nothing has changed there.  :;):

I believe that this list, as noted above, reaches so far into the vision and memories of some players, that it is hard to find balance amoung all points of view.

In any case, I am willing to try the knights as they are in Ver. 2 for now. Who knows, I might learn to love them as they are now.

Indeed AMTL is a real challenge.  But IMO great progress has been made.  Each revision sees finer and finer details being ironed out.  We are only on v2.0, what version was the Eldar list at when it finished?

PS No criticism intended to any involved in the Eldar list creation.

We cheated. Dafcras discussions were multiple version zero's :)

:;):  Yep, many passes on the "pre-list version 1".

It was a wild ride, but it was fun too.
