Knight Castigator

Hoping to get the last few battle reports to put the Knight World list up for approval in December. After that, Knight Crusade list?

To that end, I was thinking of replacing the Wardens with Knight Castigators. What do people think of these stats?

Code:
Knight Castigator       WE  30cm  5+  5+  5+
Castigator Bolt Cannon  30cm  4x AP5+/AT6+
Tempest Warblade        (bc)  Assault Weapons, MW
DC2, Knight Shield, Reinforced Armour, Scout, Walker. Critical Hit Effect: The unit is destroyed.


Reading over the FW rules the cannon looked like 4 autocannons (too many dice? 2x 4+/5+ instead?), and the warblade special rule effectively doubled its BtB attacks (so I doubled the Lancers).

Should the cannon lend an EA(+1) in FF?

Should I include the Shock Lance or leave it out (the power goes towards the speed and weapons).

If the warden is removed what will you do for Mobile, armored AA?


I understand that I have yet to play with the current list. (Starting my games Sunday with minimum 1 game a week running all the way up to and through January with taking these guys to Australia biggest Tournament) But it in the games i've played with the previous old Hyperion Knightworld list that had the static AA these were not good enough by themselves and thunderbolt CAP doesn't really cut it when trying to protect a whole board.

Why not add in the castigators but still keep the wardens? Having different options for different lists isn't a bad thing.

If you removed the wardens (really not for that option) what would you do to boost the loss in mobile AA options?

Aside from that. The stats look good as an infantry hunter, what would you price them at?

Fluff-wise, wardens are the old-timer garrison. Them heading off-world doesn't fit.

I was thinking of replacing the current levi support with Skitarii, Sentinels, Hydra and Basilisks. Titans would be added and allies would go from 1/4 to 1/3.

That's a big change from what it feels like you were going with for this list. Seems very similar then to the old Hyperion Knight World choices.
I kind of liked the idea you've gone with in trying to make a completely Knight and PDF only list in defence of their Knightworld with the idea of a Knight/Titan combined arms list to be created next year.
You and the playtesters have done stellar work getting it this far without the titans, just seems a bit of a step back to put them back in.
