Any thoughts on what the most suitable list would be to proxy with robot minis? The old miniatures are characterful, it would be fun to field them more than just as proxy sentinels

I was considering Minervans, where the range of russ variants could be proxied with robots, but 4+ RA and battle cannons is probably a bit much

The PDF allows you to field 2 units of 5 praetorians, upgraded to 7 or 9 praetorians, for each core formation, and you can use Ordinatus Minorii as core. So, you could conceivably field an army composed of Superheavies (counting as Minorii) and fully-robotic Praetorian infantry. Shades of Terminator, except the AdMech haven't a decent skimmer to their name...

Hmm praetorian stats look pretty good, although as Inf, 3 robots to a base will be a squeeze (using the old metals). Not much room for utilising the different robots variants though, although use could use crusaders as sentinels and maybe castellans for russ and maybe something else for fire support.

Robots fit perfectly as Praetorians - I've always assumed it was intentional. I use the old metals 3 to base - they fit fine if you use a 20x40mm Warmaster base.

Is there any need for a separate list for them?

Depends on how you define need, but we have here at least one guy who wants to field an army of them...

Because I suck at epic having me develop and balance a list would probably be a bad idea, but I would certainly make the document look pretty – happy to get the ball rolling through if people would be interested in such a list.

Nope, need to, uh…'procure' them in greater numbers first, hence the list planning/speculation at presernt to get some idea of quantities required. I have one of each on my desk currently, so should not be too difficult to get more .

I think the cataphract could look pretty good with a lutrine spudd gun on its back mount, maybe a manticore missile, could open up opportunities for more artillery/support roles.
