Version 1.45 of the tech guard list is now ready (soon I am going to have to find a file hosting site). A few point costs have changed. ?Mostly down but one up and a change log has been added to show what I have changed (mainly to help me stop swinging between two costs). I have also added a short discription of the aim of the style of the list, as a Q&A. ?hopefully I have got across the style I think the techguard should have, if not ask a question and I'll answer it, and add it to the Q&A. I am still concerned that the costs might be a bit to high in places. ?Examples: Super heavy tank company. formation of 3 525pts (+25ts compared to stee legion but they have leader) formation of 4 700pts. somewhat pricey put it is 4 super heavy tanks (though not shadowswords). however it is the infantry that worries me. foot infantry with an extra maniple. ?175pts 12 units with +1save +2 leader twice as many shots but 1/3 of the range compared to SL with a 75pts saving, not too bad. As mechanised they cost the same in both ists. In the tech guard the Chimeras have 50% extra range on their main guns (auto cannons compared to multilasers), but are the only ranged firepower. The infantry seems to be priced about right, so the Chimeras need a discount, snice they are the only surpressable units rather than bonus shots. I'm thinking of either 10pts, 15pts or 20ts. ?Staring at 20pts, so the mech tech guard would be 30pts cheaper than their IG counterparts. Next update will have a better allie system (in which it states which formations and how many can be taken, still titan legion only). |

I have had a few games with and against tech guard over the last few weeks. they can be found in the battle report section. So far they have won against a marine armoured force and a nid bio titan swarm, but they lost against another nid swarm. I think that they are reasonable balnced, though alot more testing is needed. I am mainly focusing on the infantry. both cohortsand the Sagittarius maniple. I think the Sagittarius maniple should go to 150pts, though this means they are paying 50% extra compared to the upgrade, just for a tribune unit and being an extra activation. Witht the cohort. I am not sure if their discounted price is so warrented. True their range is crap, but thy fremm anything in range and have the leaders to keep BM low/non existant. |
