You'll only take a BM if you have line of sight to the titan formation that died. It's also the entire titan formation being wiped out not just every titan. The main purpose is to help armies that might not be able to easily take on multiple battle titans see some benefit to picking off smaller titans and nudge AMTL players toward warhound packs over singles.

Has anyone gone up against the new, cheaper, Ork Gargant Mob yet? If so how did you get on?

Not that I've seen. I do have concerns it would require a completely taylored list and I'd be interested in awe BG reports.

I've only taken SL, and Heavy Mech IG, wonder what might be best myself in countering them. In both cases suffered defeat.

Was musing over this list http://traitor-legion.appspot.com/choos ... ~14x2~80x1

I suspect you'd end in a draw or loss with that. Come at it from the angle of how would you take out a 3500 point AMTL list using 2-4 warlords with a 3k force.

Thats the issue, either drop to Reavers and tb support, but 3k of ork gargant mob packs a pretty large punch, short of going Minervan Tank Legion

well you could do 3 reavers which would give you around 1k for everything else. Dunno, I still think you'd be hurting.

Since this thread no doubt has the most active Titan players I thought some of you might be interested in my article about tackling the Titan forces, do you reckon I missed anything?

I'd say with AMTL lists, killing the BTS isn't always possible or recommended. Without quick kill weapons like Deathstrikes the bigger titans are tough to take out, especially if they are sitting in cover and you will soak a significant amount of firepower over several turns to kill it leaving the rest of the army free to do whatever. It's almost always better to start with the small stuff and and work up than to aim straight for the BTS.

With Automatons, They die fairly easy to fire, but you don't get to evaporate them quite like Sentinels. If you want to bypass their BM rules, engage them in CC. You can still hack them down.

I think ATML will probably win unless they try to kill the great gargant. Those things just soak too much damage to bother with.

Weird stuff happened and the Gargants prevailed: viewtopic.php?f=84&t=31404&p=593836#p593836

Just played a 3k tournament style games using an AMTL force against the UK squats list. Not a good match up for the titans.
Played with; 3 reavers, 2 warhounds, 2 tbolts, 1demi-century.
Played against; 1 warriors, 2 berzerkers, bikes, cyclops, colossus, thud guns, 2 blimps, 2 AA bateries.

First turn went well mostly due to luck. Could not seem to kill the cyclops. Wiped out a lot of the troops but the overlords and the cyclops were painful. Cyclops caught my bts in the open and dropped it with one round of fire. Had full shields and DC too. Ended up losing 3:0.

Ouch. Do you think you could have done anything different to change outcome?

Not sure I can help if the cyclops one shotted the BTS :) Bad dice or just lucky hits?
