If it was balanced would you use the full NetEA List?

Yes, probably.

Aren't you the amtl champ?

Just curious as to why not just update the netea version?

Regardless of opposition, that is why you have the position (if you do) to make the decisions to move the list forward...

Being an Army Champion is a responsibility to steward a list on behalf of the community, not an authorisation to be a dictator.

We've had multiple Titan Legion lists in 2 campaigns and 2 tournaments here in Perth (played by experienced gamers) over the last 2 years.
They have not been overpowered or won a disproportional amount of games.
This is including using the tactics that give the Titans a supposed advantage.
Balanced armies should include a way to deal with Titans. ALL Epic lists can take War Engines.
Opposing Titans is different but not insurmountable.

I see no reason to try and rock the boat too much.
I'm not really interested in what the current 40K fluff says about various titans and weapons. We all KNOW that GW can (and have) changed their minds dependant on what new shiny toy they want to sell to the kids this month.
There's no point in limiting ourselves to their whims of the day.

Las burners are out there (as an example). They don't break the list. I think they should be included.

They certainly will be included in the War Gryphonnes list, which will not be overwritten or abandoned, whatever else happens.

That would be a viable reply if the list actually had a community playing it beyond testing the list...

AMTL 3.19 is one of the most widely played community developed lists.

QFT.
The AMTL list is played a lot around here.
These are not considered as playtesting games. The list plays well and once opponents get over the shock of something different, they adapt and find ways to win.

nope.

dont like it, wont play it. could be more balanced than the 3.19 list, but i wont ever know, because nothing about this list makes me want to look at it again. forgeworld restrictions can bite me :P

if you wanna release a directors cut list, thats cool, but include it in the suppliment as a "back of the book" list, supplemental to the main list. if you feel the need to say "this is the list i feel is more balanced, and more recommended for tournaments" then go for your life, but dont paste it over the top of the 'proper' list.

and fwiw, directors cuts are almost invariably longer than the main theatrical release, as they usually include the extra scenes that where removed in post production. and while some films would definitely be improved with judicious cuts* many would not be, and the AMTL list definitely isnt.

(*for instance the original assault on precinct 13 would have been much improved by cutting about 75 minutes of the film, probably even further by cutting the remaining 16 minutes too)

Since I want the Supplement to be as good as I can possibly make it, I'd rather do it the other way around, and present the more balanced list primarily, with a supplemental page or two of rules in the back of the book to give the less balanced (but more featured) 3.19 list as well.

I love that film!

Got a smoke?

that explains a lot. clearly we have very different ideas about what counts as "good" because thats pretty much the worst film ever, and to me, having options is good, artificially created forgeworld restrictions because of the models they felt like making at the time, is bad.
there are already a bunch of 'optional extras' which are not used often. relegating the whole army list back there is poo. it'll discourage people using them (or rather, it will discourage people who dont know better from letting their opponents use them) which will result in people playing the list less (i know if i get the choice between playing this cut down version or not at all then i'll take not at all every time.)
likewise, the fact that the standard reaver (you know, the one the marine and IG lists use) isnt allowed in this 'directors cut' is ridiculous. yeah you can pretend they're laserbasters, but they're not, and they're not in any other list, so why put that restriction in?

Because it's a variant list, and you can do different things in variant lists.

yes
but if what you are presenting as the default titan legion list is unable to create the default titan, then you've got something wrong.

*shrug*
The default NetEA AMTL list will remain the War Gryphonnes.

This is a variant list for a Supplement. Two separate things.
