- Forge Knight / Forge Guard
- Armoured Vehicle
- Speed 20cm
- Armour 4+
- CC 4+
- FF 4+
- Lascutter (30cm AT4+)
- Manipulators (+1 EA, MW, Assault Wpn)

Reinforced Armour, Walker, Invun Save.

I like it, but as TRC has pointed out, the FF is a little too good. How about a command unit for formations of 6 knights? Doesn't have to be a baron or anything, it could just be one of the knights given commander, leader.
As for the suggested price, I'd compare this to a LR. It's the same speed, Armour, FF, RA, and the same AT on the main gun. Difference is 30cm vs. 75cm range, no secondary guns, and +1EA(CC,MW). I think it needs to work out cheaper than 400 for 6 to be viable.

I wish I could use my old Knights Paladin as Paladins, though. (Yeah, I know it's probably not going to happen, but I can dream).

That could be done by allowing the formation to take the Veteran Princeps upgrade.

Noted.

You can, on the Knight army list. I've only played it once, but I like it.

Dave's Tyranids, Tyranids. Dave will be posting a BatRep for it in the near future.

Awesome.

After 3.11 I'll be doing another pass over the Knightworld list.

Heh. I just came back to point out that I had spotted the knight list and was looking forward to using my paladins again, and you've had this entire conversation. :)

I like the idea of allowing veteran princeps upgrades.

ok, some more name ideas:

Ion Burner
Ion Lance
Thermic lance (although maybe this is better as a CC weapon)
Thermic Beam
Arc Lance
Proton Beam

If you want them to be CC focused, maybe you should increase their speed or give them infiltrator. I've always been a big fan of making all knights infiltrators so that they match the IG rough riders. In fact, I think rough riders are a good unit to look at for getting stats and setting point costs, even if knights are AVs and not infantry.

Yeah, thats my favourite too.  Sounds engineering-y and yet non-descript enough to make the stats how you like.

I am wondering about the knights being WEs or AVs and I think it should boil down to how big the model is.  I think that if the available model (be it paladin or conversion) is about 2/3 of the size of the warhound then it should be a WE, oltherwise it can be an AV.

the only benefits it will get as a 1DC WE is the ability to barge 1 unit and to block line of sight.

Paladins aren't really that big... they're about 1/3rd the mass of a Warhound Titan.

Anyways, as I said before, they're simplified in this list for a number of reasons... I've encountered players being quite confused about the concept of a DC1 War Engine, and thought it best to leave such a beast to a list specifically focused on them (The Knightworld list)
