Thanks for the batrep Hena!

I'll ponder your thoughts as well.  I'm glad you could accept the Blast markers on Bugs as well, I know I had a lot of initial resistance too, but it looks like it may just work out!

One more thing. The engage on Hold should be a bit worse than just normal engage. Perhaps -1 to resolution or something, Since advance is a bit better than hold (not in shooting though, but it allows moving).

Too much of a special rule, IMHO. The list already has too many multi-faceted special rules.

Interesting ideas Hena, I think you may have a point there about those hold actions and tyranid character.

Any more thoughts on gargoyles - it doesn't sound as though they had much of an effect on the t-bolts in this game?

Thanks for the report! :)

Hey, E&C, which would you like to see eliminated if there are too many already?

A few notes based on the game. First, having Tyranids get BM and "almost-break" makes fighting the Nids feel very much like playing any Epic. With the old system, the Nids were very different -- they just kept coming. In this battle, I planned and executed many Engages just to win them and cause mindlessness. That would not have worked at all in the old system.

However, the payoff for making a Nid formation go mindless is considerable lower than breaking a formation. They always rally. They sometimes spawn. I believe you still need to kill the synapse critters to win. I managed only a draw despite getting to call all the shots. I never lost initiative. I never failed to engage. I won all the firefights. But I didn't go after the synapses...

Hena, the FS titan's name is General Judenits. These things are important, you know.
