After reading big Js comment in the Nid v7.0 List changes from v6.22 thread about askiong JJ about which models we can expect and request I started thinking about how we could trim the current range of models in an attempt to aquire new models of new/old units. For example. The dominatrix is a lovely model but doesn't look DC8, more of a DC3 SHBT rather than the brood mother. Also the hydraphant is wrtien as being a variant of the dominatrix without the throne. So couldn't we ask that the dominatrix throne is packaged with the large bio titan and the set is sold as Dominatrix/Hydraphant. This could potentially free up mould space (though I have no idea if this is true). So are there any other idea for stream lining the range or am I just plan crazy? |

Not to be a doomsayer, but unless Jervis has said specifically and very recently the Tyranids will be getting new models I would base the list off of what models have been made. ?Most all the new models got cut from the CSM and L&D lists. ?Last I heard, (over a year ago), Jervis said he may be able to get a few models made for needed units like the Defiler and Obliterators. The options for new models are far more limited due to the restructure of SG. -Audrey |

Well. We should see soon though. Chaos is released, we can quickly identify what new models(if any) were released. Then we are bit smarter in that regard ![]() |

Sorry to stray, but when is chaos supposed to be 'officially' released for E:A anyway? Cheers, |

It was last projected as August 2006. But again that was what Jervis had said sometime over a year ago. There has not been any mention of the release from any official GW source recently. -Audrey |

Well, then another question is, what constitutes a "new model" when the chaos releases are made? I was under the impression that the chaos bikers, dreads, and warlord-esque titan were sculpted before E:A was even in development. So, are there actually going to be [recently sculpted] minis for death-wheels, decimators, defilers, and oblits? Another thing to consider is that FW may be more likely to make tyranid critters than chaos minis, since they make a wider variety of tyranid creatures for 40k than they they make for chaos. Of course, that's just speculation on my part, based on the observation that they've made epic scale versions of a good number of their 40k IG and Tau lines. Finally, as for the lack of announcements for epic, I wouldn't be too worried about it, seeing as how the feral orks didn't get any announcement (at least not on the main GW page). Even on the SG page, there was only a 1-2 month heads-up on the actual release window. At the very least, there are existing tyranid and chaos models that could be released, unlike the situation with necrons. |

As it stands right now the only real 'new' models needed for the Tyranid Army are............... Vituperator Venomfex Ravener This itself could be pared down to two as the Venomfex could be easily made as a conversion. Mycetic Spores, and both types of Synapse Nodes could easily be scratch built (I use peanut shells as Mycetic Spores, painted purple they look pretty good, and I have seen a host of ideas for Nodes). As for Forge World, I seem to remember a word or two from JJ on not basing designs around Forge Worlds models on the official GT list. Myself I feel real sorry for the Necron Designers/Players because, even if Tau models aren't released by SG, at least they can go to Forge World to get some Necron players would not have that option. Well not as of today anyways. We must just wait and see ![]() Jaldon ![]() |

Not sure if I'm allowed to say this(soon I'll be sued by GW-lawyers I'm affraid) but quoting email I got from Andy Hall when I asked wether they are going to release chaos in autumn as planned: Well, Chaos is currently on the schedule. Figure out yourself what that means. I can think 2 different meanings to that phrase(they sure can write cryptic ![]() |

I had a look on the Wh40k Raveners and to me they look exactly like a Trygon just smaller and have just the right size for epic scale Trygons. look here expecially the right one: http://uk.games-workshop.com/storefr....gnav=10 |

some other ideas I have had to make production of epic nids easier (well possible). synapse nodes Having a pack of infestation markers to use as synpatic nodes. say a pack of three of the ones that come with the stealers as lesser nodes and one of the chunkier nodes from the starter set. Hierodules 1 termigaunt sprue 12 brood lord claws 4 Hierodule heads (new) 4 bio cannon arms (new) assorted spiky bits (for the back an to bulk them up) (new) This will give a set of 2 barbed and two scythed hierodules with a bit of conversion |
