Basically I am divided on how I want to treat Raveners in the next version of the list, and so is my home group.

So I decided to let you all vote, and post your views, on the said same subject.

Jaldon :p

I voted 5+ armour and infiltrator, since they move as quick as Hormagaunts in 40k, and I still feel strongly they should be LVs... *laugh*

That was my thoughts too, though undecided about the LV issue.

I would keep them 5+ without infiltrator. Perhaps up the move to 25?

Why's that Hena?

Raveners should have the exact same movement as Hormagaunts.  Should probably cost about twice as much as Hormies and be LVs as well, to balance them and Hormies as choices.

If the Ravener becomes LV that means it can be used as a bullet shield for the various AVs.  Useful for arty broods and bio-tank swarms.  I seem to remember that being a factor in making them infantry.

But it also makes such a brood succeptible to AP fire, obviously its not as bad as for other armies as those deaths don't place BMs.

As well, with infiltrates the Ravener should be 30 points vs a Hormagaunt's 15.

I think it should follow the same plan as other "heavy" infantry that are usually represented by 3 to a base instead of the traditional 5, e.g. Obliterators and Crisis suits.

As well infiltrating can be used to represenst the Ravener's ability to "burrow".

"Well with the scores all even we will move onto the next question. The next question is for Che. Che, Jerry Lee Lewis has had over seventeen major gold hits in the USA, whats the name of the biggest?"

I do want to let the poll go on for a bit longer, but it looks as if the 5+ Infiltrate has got a pretty solid lead over the 4+ armor no infiltrate.

But late polling could save it in the stretch, now all I have to do is ask CS how I can put my vote in about twenty times

Maybe I'll put up an LV-Infantry poll sometime later, but for now they remain infantry.

So what is the name of that hit song by Jerry Lee Lewis? And who in that same Monty Python sketch came up with the correct answer?

Thanks All

Jaldon :p

I hope you up their cost to 30 with 5+ and infiltrate. 25 seems too low.

I agree they should be 30 points with infiltrate.  That way you need to decide on quantity vs quality with Raveners vs Gaunts.

And I'm still pro-LV...   :D

I'm on the fence with LV here. I'm falling to the side of infantry only presently.

I did vote with the 5+ and infiltrate as that really makes sense to me in how they would port over from 40K.

In regards to points, even without being a shield for the AT targets in the E:A Tyr force, I think an AP target like this would be in the 30 points a stand value to the Tyranid E:A force.

Yes, I see all bugs as a target. :p

Raveners are twisted, snake-like creatures which combine the feared elements of the Tyranid Warriors' powerful symbiote weapons with the unholy speed of Gargoyles and Hormagaunts. Vulnerable to heavy weapons fire, Raveners have evolved the ability to burrow through almost any substance with their spade-like scything talons. Sensing vibrations, they reappear in a spray of earth right in front of the enemy position, their thorax-mounted weapon-symbiotes spitting out death.

That's the description of Raveners from the new Tyranid Codex. ?Fast as Hormagaunts and "Vulnerable to heavy weapons fire"... sounds like infiltrators and LVs to me! ? :alien:
