I find the list very interesting, and I will try it on a friend who complains about the current Tyranid list as bending the rules too much.

I would also like to salute the French initiative. I do not agree with everything in your list, but I think that you have blown life into the current Tyranid army progress in this forum.

My instant positive reactions: Love the come-back of winged warriors, the new use of Zoanthropes and the tunnelling teams.

My immediate reservations: Playing a lot against IG, the LV status of Warriors would be a real concern. Not so sure about re-inforced armoured transports either.

The problem is that it enhances formations with high save. How many times you see a IG Infantry Company assaulting (not a Mech Inf, but regular)? I've never seen it. Now the common brood is in this situation. I think that breaks the original "horde of tooth and claw" premise quite nicely.

I understand that it assists formations with higher-save units.  I don't agree that will necessarily break the "horde" system.  I follow you on the fact that it could; I just question whether it would in practice.  Common broods in cover, for instance, would hold up just as well as higher-armor broods for many fewer points.

I would have to agree with Hena. What is at stake is the tactical use of gaunts. In the french list, I see little use for pure gaunt swarms, except for guarding your own half of the table.

If anything fits the bill for expendable, I think it is termies and hormies.

That's part of the new proposal I'm working on... Gaunts will be expendable... so, it makes them fodder on offence and defence and gives a strong incentive to use them.
