Hi, I just noticed the competition and have one question.

Is it OK to include pictures of minis already published on Epicomms? ie if you have painted the mini during 2004 but published photos of it here at epicomms, can you still use it in the comp?

cheers

Krax

Yes

The purpose of the competition is to show not only the best in Epic painting but also to increase the number of pictures of well painted Epic miniatures that have not been seen before.

The rules regarding miniatures that are painted this year or not see before is to stop old farts like me submitting pictures of miniatures we painted years ago and/or have been seen by everyone before....

So if I painted something this year back in July and it's posted on my web site, and probably linked on the GW board... is this eligible for entry or not?

According to the rules this would not be eligible.

The miniature must have either been painted in 2004 or not been seen before (whether that be on these boards, a website, or linked to from a forum).

Sorry, maybe I?m stupid but I dont understand that answer...

As The miniature must have either been painted in 2004 or not been seen before (whether that be on these boards, a website, or linked to from a forum).
the important word being either here, surely the mini in Leaxtars example should be eligible as it has been painted this year  Or am I missing something?

I?m not trying to be cheeky, just want to know how it?s supposed to work.

cheers

Thanks krax, you beat me to the reply. Was trying to figure how to use quotes.

I think he should have used "and" in his rule instead of "or"... maybe

Sorry my mistake I actually misread the original post which said
if I painted something this year back in July and it's posted on my web site

I read that as "a year back in July" therefore read it as July 2003.

Of course if it was painted in July 2004 which I am sure Lextar meant then yes it is eligible for entry.

Even if the miniature has been seen, if it was painted in 2004 then it is eligible for entry.

If the miniature has not been seen before then the year of painting is not relevant.

I apologise for my mistake.

Wohoo... that means I can enter my ork rok band into the compo.

Erm... this is a single ork wagon with four orks mounted on it... does this class as a single unit???
