Entering

You do not have to be a member of these boards to enter (you do to vote however). Just e-mail your entry to epicompetitions [at] gmail [dot] com.

Please include the following:

  • Your name, and TacComm member name if applicable
  • A 1024x768px image of your entry in .jpg format
  • The title for the image
  • The category that you wish to enter the image in

Entries should be models that you've completed during the past year and not previously entered in an EpiComp competition. Entries already posted here or elsewhere on the internet can still be entered (I'm calling this the "Dave Rule").

Voting

Voting will take place on these boards, so you'll have to be a member here in order to vote. I'll break down each category into heats of ten-ish entries (if you enter multiple entries in the same category I'll make sure they're in different heats). The winners of each heat will go onto the final for a second round of voting.

Voting is set (tentatively) to begin on December 15, 2011. It all depends on whether the galleries are up though so this date and the end of voting are both subject to change.

Prizes

The prizes for the categories will be announced as I get them. A big thank you to those who have already donated! If you're thinking about donating something please PM me! EpiComp relies on the community's support and the great manufacturers who make our models for prizes!

One prize will be awarded to the winner of each category. A conversion prize will also be awarded to the best conversion across all the categories. This will be decided on by CyberShadow, NealHunt and myself (so feel free to shower us with bribery, ass-kissing, and the like). Since I'm planning on entering I think I'm going to ask Vanvlak to take my place in this. If Neal and CS enter as well we'll see about having others choose here to keep it fair.

Any winner will be awarded a maximum of one prize. If an entrant wins two categories they'll be able to choose the prize from either category. The prize from the other category will be awarded to the second-place entry in that category.

Cheers for organising everything Dave, jsut a question about open and how other manufacturers are categorised:

Why would these not go in the applicable single/war engine epic category? they are not 'misc' stuff like terrain, diorama, objectives etc. Does this mean that the only stuff we can enter into single/WE are 'epic' figures, eg GW or scratch built then, if all other manufacturers have to be open or own category? Assuming it doesn't, can you clarity how you decide which category to put stuff into, as it seems odd that a single tank can be entered into open to compete with a terrain piece, when there are already categories for single tanks. If i have an EW tank, but painted for use in an epic 40k themed force, which category does it go in?

Just trying to work out the battleforce design. Not sure I understand the wording of the allowed forces ::)

Thanks Dave.

Actually, while i realsie this is presumably the same as last year, do you mean in each instance '4' or minimum of 4.

4 formations of 4 units each (or 1 WE) each as a set restriction on size

or

minimum of 4 formations with a minimum of 4 units/1WE each

Post subject:  Re: EpiComp 2011 Rules

The latter, four being the minimum of each (16+ tanks or 4+ WE, or some combination of the two with WEs counting as 4+ tanks). I'll update the post.

The idea for open was for it to be a catch all. Epic models/conversions go in the main category, EW in EW, DRM in DRM, MWG in MWG, and anything else in open. Obviously we can move the other models into the main categories if people want, and leave open to just terrain/dioramas, but Jon at GZG and Marios at PBG didn't think there'd be a lot of entries of their models.

It's science fiction, anything is possible. It probably wouldn't be a bad idea to put a las pistol guy on one stand to be their "technological leader" though. :P
