Just a question - I may have missed in the discussion. Any reason why pics are limited to 75KB 640x480? Seems kinda small - would 800x600 be possible (maybe next year?). |

I'd tend to agree: Most people are running their screens at fairly high resolution now (I'm at 1600x1200 for example), so the old image properties are starting to feel slightly outdated. |

Well maybe it's not too late to change it up to 800x600 then? I'm the only one who's posted something so far, and could change it. |

Fair enough. Picture size has been changed to 800x600, but 75Kb remains as a restriction. |

"The winner for each category will be the entrant with the highest vote." Can this be clarified as I didn't see it quite fair from last year (or I think year before that) voting. Not going to try and explain it, so here is the example what happened. Due to the high amount of entries, the votes were seperated. Single Unit Competion Vote Section A Entry 1 - 10 votes Entry 2 - 8votes Entry 3 - 9 votes Vote Section B Entry 4 - 20 votes Entry 5 - 1 votes Entry 6 - 1 votes In the end, entry 4 won the competition as there was no further voting. Entry 5 and 6 could have been really bad, hence entry 4 got the most votes. But entry 1, 2, 3 were equally superior, but much better than entry 4, so in effect, Entry 1 should have won. |

Oh, one other question... If I wanted to do the Eldar Avatar and Council of Young Kings, but wanted to replace the Council of Young Kings with the Phonix Lord... would that break the rules? And if one of the Phonix Lord is missing, would that be ok? (don't want to be making a new version of Fulgrim). Also can I use the 40K rules to make up a battleforce? Thinking whether I can submit my Blood Angels, but then I've got all the characters in the command HQ stand, which sorta breaks the 40K rule anyway ![]() |

Just use the Epic 40k rules. That'll give you a lot more flexibility in army composition. ![]() |

Can this be clarified as I didn't see it quite fair from last year (or I think year before that) voting. I would hope that this is incorrect, and that this didnt happen. I dont remember it. Can you link to the specific vote? Anyway, entries are divided into heats, in the order in which they are submitted (so, if submitting more than one entry for the same category, space them out to minimise the chance of competing against yourself). The winner of each heat goes through to a final vote. Have a look at the recent GothiComp to see this in action. If I wanted to do the Eldar Avatar and Council of Young Kings, but wanted to replace the Council of Young Kings with the Phonix Lord... would that break the rules? This would be fine. Generally, the actual miniatures used is flexible, particularly with infantry. Feel free to add whatever works, as long as it is clear what the stand represents. For example, an Ork Command stand can have all sorts of guys on it. |

Think it was the 2005 competition. Not sure how to get to the links, but from what I remember, the entries were seperated into different heats, but there wasn't a final voting for the winners of each heat. I remember discussing it too on a previous thread when someone asked about the prizes for that year. Also I don't actually play epic, so dont actually know the rules without heavy research. The BloodAngels are featured on my page, but as I need to remove Commander Dante, I would be left with the remaining battleforce; HQ Stand, 2 Assault stands 4 tactical stands 1 dreadnought 1 Baal I guess that's 9 units, so would that qualify for the Battleforce? |

OK. Well, this year there will be a final heat for winners of individual heats. The Battleforce regulations state that it must consist of at least 8 units. So, your Marines would be fine. |

Single Unit competition rules... I'm probably getting epic rules mixed up with 40K rules, but these are classed as a unit of 1-3 Lictors... so does 3 lictors class as a single unit or 3 units? oh.. they're mounted on different stands. Also i guess the same question for Raveners. |

Where there is a choice of basing a unit individually or in a group (and Crisis suits may even fit here), then you are able to make your own decision on it. I dont want to invalidate a potential submission because of this. |

Simple technical question. How do you upload an image directly to the board? |

(zap123 @ Sep. 09 2007,15:59) QUOTE Simple technical question. ?How do you upload an image directly to the board? I'm not a judge, but I can answer this question! (makes me feel useful...) When you click the Add Reply button, you'll find a File Attachments section at the bottom. Click the Browse button to locate the pic file on your computer, and hit Add Reply. Job done!
