Hi,

I've loved the look of the new AT since it was first announced and would have bought the starter set at realise if it hadn't been a crazy price which kind of killed it for me.

Anyway I'm back to looking at it again now and have bought the separate rules pack and seen that you can now get a 4 titan box.

But it looks like id have to provide both sides as my friend would only get an army for it if they made Orks or Eldar until then he'd play but it would be me providing everything

so roughly how many knights and titans do you need per side in a 'standard' sized game?

would one of those 4 titan boxes plus a couple of other bits do it or is that more half of one army?

Cheers

Andy

We played with 1 Warlord + 1 Reaver vs. 1 Warlord + 2 Warhounds, and it's plenty to get started with.

I bought the GM Edition and the extra Titans separately, but if I was doing it again I'd consider 2 of the box sets you're referring to. They are selling for £80 on eBay, which is a steal IMO.

Good to know thank you
out of interest would 3 Reavers be about the same as 1 warlord and 2 warhounds?

There's a shop near were I work that has a load of AT stuff (and other GW) at 20% off so I'm hopping they'd be able to get me one of the sets for £80

Standard games of AT18 tend to be 1500-2000 points, which usually amounts to 4-5 Titans of various classes and 1-2 Banners of Knights (which means 3-4 knights per Banner).

Though you can play and have fun with smaller forces, the real tactical options begin to open up with the above.

They should be - 750 points for 3 Reavers, against 745 points for a Warlord and 2 Warhounds (all excluding weapons). Sounds like a nice asymmetrical battle.

Thanks everyone I have ordered the set with 1 Warlord, 1 Revear and 2 warhounds plus also bought one of the alternative Reavers with Melta cannon and chain fist.

A 3rd Reaver might go on the birthday list and I can proxy some knights for now

Just have to hope my friend is willing to give it ago

Oh and I best order some magnets
