Anyone seen any conversion charts/templates for running old Titan Legions with the new rules?

I played a warm up game with my GF today, with the two Warhounds I happened to have to hand (all my Epic is in storage at present :( ) and it worked fine, but it would be nice to have some custom manoeuvring templates for the reduced scale.

I have Warhounds on 40mm rounds, and Reavers and Warlords on 60mm rounds.

Won't take much to mock some up, but if someone has already done the work...

I reckon the older 40K (2nd ed) hand flamer and smaller blast templates should work fine for reducing weapon reach. Not sure if the actual weapon ranges really need tweaking, but it won't take much if range does feel too out of scale.

Of course, its what we did today :)

Only issue is the templates and scale are designed for the new bigger minis, and in particular, the three 45degree widgets are based on the new oval bases rather than the older round style.

At least, two of them are.

I'm going to mock up some smaller ones I think, just wasn't sure if anyone had done it yet as I doubt I am the only one who is keen to use old models rather than replace everything with the newer, pricier versions (as nice as they are).

Should be very easy to construct templates for the old bases - the only things really needed are 90 deg arcs (or +/- 45 deg off 0) and base width channel forward.

Please share anything you mock up.

Are they really needed? EA has made due without them for the past 15 years...

Modding the ranges, fire arc templates is all well and good to an extent. It might be a bit unfair if one player has small easy to hide old titans while they have large new titans?

I would suggest a better approach would be to buy a load of the bases used in AT (120 by 92, 105 by 70 and 80mm round) and blu-tack / magnetise the old models on temporarily while playing AT. I've put an order in with a laser cutter chap to cut me a load of all those bases is 1.5mm high plasticard so my new 8mm titans bases match those of my other Epic. You'd have to guess at the profile of the titans if they game uses true line of sight (I haven't read the rules fully yet) but at least the bases would be the right size.

Well, nothing is really needed is it? ;)

Good news is the smallest template in the box is for 80mm rounds, so we have an established design. Just a case of scaling it up/down to suit. Then finding some one with a laser cutter to make some nice Perspex versions.

@GlynG- the plan is to use only “proper” Epic minis. As nice as the new AT models are, I have enough titans going to do two Maniples.

Fair enough :) I use small company called Lazerline Designs for my laser cutting needs. They've made me hundreds of custom bases in laser cut plastic and I'm sure they could help with templates and such.

Awesome, cheers. Always good to have more options for lasering.

In terms of the new scales, would you say that a current 40k night is about the right size for an imperator - looks a little small height wise to me.

Anyone have some comparison shots between 6mm 40k Titans and Adeptus Titanicus ones?

I had one game last week using Epic models with the new ruleset. It worked really good! The scenery i have for Epic was really good for blocking LoS and forcing some manouvering.

The critisism i've heard so far of the new scale is that the GW scenery creates gameplay where your warlords will stand still on first fire orders firing on everything on the table.

We're gonna do another game next week in Epic scale.

I think that's probably less the game and GW itself vs the tendency of players to use parking lots irrespective of the game. I mean look at 40k games or people playing WM/H.
