Has the thunderhawk transport got a shield that projects around the vehicles being transported if not how do they survive the heat and turbulance of the rapid drop from space.

I think I remember something in the background about heat shields for the vehicles that are dropped after atmospheric entry but before landing.

Yeah ablative shields that jettison. Also remember that a pod might be more realistic but we're modeling here so looking cool is even more important and boxes are not cool. :)

More feedback on the cruiser came in, this little bit came from DakkaDakka:

Quote:
Personally, I think the engine section needs to be bulkier (and the bridge more descernable, if it's going at the rear). I'm not a fan of the cube right in the middle, but I understand it can't look to BFGy.

And some from Facebook:
Quote:
I like that there is a dvide between the weapons, it makes it a bit more different to hte regular cruiser. I think its important that it has its own look.

Quote:
Needs more dakka! Bigger engine, bigger bridge, if you keep the middle side, put some turrets on there.

too thin , too big prow, Lovely concept.

Some feedback from the Specialist Games forum:

Quote:
I like the current Vanguard ship line and intended to pick some up. I definitely welcome some cruiser hulls appearing. Are they perchance redoing the counts as lance armed escort too? That would be really good.

The cruiser looks promising - are those interchangeable weapon options? Definitely a good idea. The hull itself though seems a bit underwhelming. The engine and bridge area could benefit from being bulked out more - it's a cruiser after all. Perhaps a larger bridge and some fins at the ends of the wings? And perhaps a fin? This would help make the cruiser look more like a CAPITAL ship than an elongated escort.

ALSO - I would love to see more than one cruiser type, even if it's just a biggerised Venusian support ship with a few more turrets.

Hope that feedback helps - knowing me I'll probably grab some anyway

The venusian is a perfect AdMech stand in. The bridge is perfect that way. In my opinion the prow needs some stream lining.

Venusian missile boats would fill a need… heck, more Venusians in general. No else has done anything similar (i.e. Earthican ships have competition from other small companies).

More feedback from the Specialist Games forum on the ship design:

Quote:
I'm such a muppet. When I suggested 'fins and perhaps a fin' I meant a ventral fin, like the old GW Imperials had. Ho hum, sorry!

Happy belated birthday to Vanguard! I'll go back to my cave now :)

I did recently offer it to Vanguard, it's his call if he wants it.

Yes yes yes!

By the way, I'm digging through Google to find whatever other old Troublemaker sculpts are still out there, will we be seeing these characters pop up?
Image

And then I see this evil looking little fella, yes...yeeeeees (in a Megatron from Beast Wars voice).

Will these also become available (again)?

I'm just bummed you never made that floating fat-man character, Baron Zimms. Going to have to hire you to finally sculpt him :D

Hmm, more Dune influenced would need be cool! Some sort of fancy special character pack with figures like these (look for the Dune characters) would be truly amazing! :D

These characters are not available in store but I do usually put a few in with large orders for free.

The warstalker and desert support weapons are in store and always have been.

I haven't seen the desert support weapons in the store, is it possible they're out of stock?

Regarding the picture of the Warstalker, I wasn't talking about the Warstaker specifically, but that infantry fellow next to it. ;)
