That would be pretty cool! If we are going for the tree thing it might be cool to introduce a notion of a
world tree. The idea might be kinda fitting for the Eloi and their usage of genetic technology to alter themselves (and maybe the universe around them).
Their usage of organic materials, maybe even directly growing vehicles kinda makes me think of
programmable materials, could see Eloi armour working this way, maybe even morphing camouflage. Hmm, maybe even some sort of healing bioplastic akin to
this? Kinda reminds me of
slime mould.
I don't know if the Eloi, like the counterpart from that other company are a dying race, but I couldn't help but think of Eloi ruins when seeing
this. Yes, we're delving into Eloi architecture now. But keep in mind that architecture can influence the aesthetic of a race. Look at the role of gothic architecture in 40k design. So to get back to the Eloi, I realised I should really watch
Jupiter Ascending. Despite it not being such a great film (from what I've heard) it does have some interesting ideas. Like
this and its
ships. And if the Eloi are this genetic engineering faction, why not have them grow humans? The dark counterpart of the Eloi in that other gaming universe seem to grow their warriors as well. Reminds me of the Matrix, something akin to
this perhaps?
Yes, this is beyond mere proxies to complete your armies, but I thought it nice to kinda look a bit deeper in the design, and one day perhaps also into the background...
