He's not selling STLs though is he? Just prints of his own designs. I'd still be equally fine buying them without really caring. As a subsequent retailer is there anything different for you for selling his metal models or 3d printed ones of the same? I would think shipping might be a tiny bit cheaper too if they weigh less.

i think that the bulk ordering is the trouble. its easy to get 1000 figures in metal cast up. 100 figures printed takes some time and a lot of QC and cleanup

See if he will send some samples and judge the quality, if they look good enough and the price is realistic then stock them.
Some of the recent 3d prints i have picked up are cleaner and easier to prep than normal plastics or resin.

I think as long as the quality is there I don't mind the material, so what jprp has suggested there sounds a good idea.

Vanguard is such a great 'one stop shop' for 6mm stuff (I love that terrain and things like that are available there) and having the Onslaught minis there and available to buy in 'one click' was a real appeal.

Well, you'll have at least one happy customer if (quality permitting) you do start to stock them again! :)

that's because the person that printed them did a bunch of manual work cleaning them up prior to sending them to you. I do a ton of printing; There's so much time spent removing the supports and cutting/filing the connections.

I concur. The resin printing thing is a toxic stinky workintensive and often rather wasteful means of production for the most part. I suppose printfarms operate on a different level than attic-tinkerers like myself, but still...

Yes I hate cleaning up prints, boring, tedious and often frustrating work, give me mould lines any day lol.

WANTED 3D DESIGNERS

I am again looking to supplement my design team with a couple more 3D designers to work on various projects for me here at Vanguard minis.

A knowledge of the parameters and compromises needed to design at the smaller scales for casting would be handy but not essential.

I am specifically looking for infantry designers in the 3mm, 6mm up to 10mm scales. If you can design figures in hard armour and/or conventional cloth uniforms at any of these three scales then please contact me to discuss potential commissions. Good at one but not the other, I’d still like to hear from you.

Dependant on the response rate it may take me a little time to reply to your mail so please be patient.

Email me at, info@vanguardminiatures.co.uk

Regards John

Hi there

Do you mind me asking what has happened to the Gregster's lab miniatures on the site?

Cheers

Gregster's cannot supply new castings at this time so I closed down the Gregster's lab page on my site for now and transferred all remaining stock items to appropriate sections on the defeat in detail pages.

I will update news on Gregster's Labs availability as and when I have more infornation.

Similar question but are you gradually stopping selling Onslaught in the end? Bit of shame not to support a good supplier of Epic proxies. I'll probably do some big orders direct from him in the US if not but more convenient buying from you.

ORDERING DISABLED

As of this evening UK time ordering has been temporarily disabled on site for several reasons. I have a backlog of business related work that needs attending to as well as recent re-stocks that need checking and bagging before putting back up in store. Time has been at a premium and I’ve just not been able to get all that I need to do done.

I will enable ordering later this coming week once the backlog has been cleared or at least reduced to a more manageable level. All orders received over the weekend will be processed and shipped as normal.

BASES The 25mm round bases are on order and will be back in stock very soon.

Kind regards John

Hi John

I placed my order #119039 on the 30th August which has been completed. Does this mean it has been sent , is still awaiting to be packaged and sent?

Regards

Deb
