SEASONS GREETINGS

Well the seasonal holiday is almost upon us and the end of the year is in sight, and what a year 2020 has been. I do not wish to comment on global events here other than to say I will not be sad to see the back of this most terrible year and I’m sure most everyone would agree.

I have little to tell you all at the moment other than to say it is pretty much business as usual here at Vanguard minis, I have made my last release for this year but I do have many new products in the pipeline for you all to look forward to for the coming year. Also of note my website will be receiving a new front page and more modern interface during early January, this will be the first such update since the site went online over five years ago.

Ordering on the site will be disabled very soon now so that I may concentrate on getting as many items back in stock as possible, ready for the new year. To that end next week will be spent sorting and bagging stock and updating the inventory on the site. All orders received will however be processed and shipped as usual and of course I will notify you all once ordering is enabled again.

I am uncertain just how the UK leaving the European union will affect things next year other than that I will now need to affix customs labels to all non UK orders, and there may be some potential initial delays with shipping. Other than that it remains to be seen just how things will play out.

Thank you one and all for your support and custom again this past year I can’t thank you all enough for your continued enthusiasm for my products and the purchases you all make. It means so much to me to see the models I bring to the community being enjoyed and added to your armies, and all the battles they appear in across social media and beyond, so great to see.

All that remains is for me to wish you all a great seasonal holiday (well as much as restrictions allow anyway) and a hopefully happy new year. See you all on the other side.

Kind regards John

Website News
Dec 31, 2020
Written by John
I have been receiving a lot of mail about the inability to add items to the basket on my website so I thought I’d update you all on what is happening.

Ordering has been disabled for two reasons, the first being that I’m giving myself a break from order packing, but the main reason is that the website is in the process of being updated to a new more modern interface. This is ongoing work that should be completed over the weekend, and requires ordering to be disabled for the transfer of data across to the new site.

There will be an announcement made here and on social media as soon as things are up and running again as usual. Many thanks for your patience.

Oh also I will be posting up news on the Brexit transition on just what my European customers need to know soon.

Didn't you announce that all on this site before you went on holidays? You said you would announce to us here, when ordering would be reinstated, and that would not be until after you updated the website, got some more stock in.

I did yes but I'm still getting a lot of mail on the subject so have re-posted all over to hopefully catch more people.

BREXIT TRANSITION UPDATE

From the 1st of January 2021 there will be changes to the ordering system for our European customers.
1. EU customers will no longer pay UK VAT (20%) on their orders meaning a 20% price reduction comes into effect on all products.
2. EU customers will now have to pay their own countries VAT fee on their orders once the package arrives in their country. This will be the same VAT charge as you would pay if you ordered from the USA or Australia for example.
3. There may also be a handling fee charged on top of this but this is not always the case and varies by country.
4. From experience not all parcels are caught by customs and so customers may find their orders arriving without any charges at all, this is obviously subject to many factors.
5. All of this could change again in July when the EU introduces its planned VAT OSS system, more on this as thing become clear.
6. Shipping fees, we will be reviewing shipping fees as it becomes clear what if any increases are put in place by the various postal services.

I hope this information goes someway towards clearing things up for my valued European customers and I will try to keep you all informed on this subject as things develop.

OLD EMAILS
Please ignore any emails being received from vanguard, the website is being updated and somehow old mail is being sent out during the data transfer. My apologies if this has caused any concern.

Thank you for the clarification about old emails - just received a few and wondered if there was some more mischievous explanation.

Good luck with the new site, I'm looking forward to having a gander when its up and running.

Ok people I shot my bolt on this, the sites not 100% ready yet and I misinterpreted a message. So we will be live tomorrow now and not this evening. Apologies everyone.
