Ok guys thanks for the honest feedback as I said this is not one of my designs and was created for a customer so this is what he wanted.

I suppose I could always get this one printed and cast for him and then re-visit the design after to tweak it some more for the store model.

I think that that would probably be your best option. So have this one be for that specific client and then put a tweaked one in your store. Personally I'd prefer the option to have both the enclosed version and the one where you can clearly see the pilot riding it.

Yes mate that's sort of what i'm thinking I liked those images you sent me especially the white one so I may get a new version done with a plug in option for enclosed or open pilot station.

Hmm, I'd guess that if you would release this machine, you'd also need to release Novan Elites (both the normal ones and the ones in heavy armour) armed with glaives and wrist mounted twin linked machine guns. Another 'character sprue' for the Novans would also be interesting, one with a political officer, machine priest, normal priest, assassin(s), interrogator, etc.

Remember that a lot of people didn't like the DK when it came out in 28mm scale, so perhaps the customer wanted it closer to his vision, which is perfectly fair. For me, the Trampler is almost right, just needs a close combat weapon and to have a power armoured guy put in the "baby carrier".

Now that assault tank kicks bottom! My only comments are it looks a bit short and the chain guns would look better off centre imho. Looking forward to seeing it develop... :-)

Ah thanks, well it's not short I can assure you in fact it's bigger than a certain model of similar design. The rotary cannon mount is just one optional item that will come with this model the main hull turret will have a double machine gun mount as standard. The MG mount has been tried out in various locations as we've progressed the design but it was found that it fits best on the upper hull although now it is to one side as opposed to being central.

This is an old pic the model is almost completed I should be able to post a finished render sometime this week.

This one is by Mr Skinner E&C himself but I have three other guys doing stuff for me and another chap interested too.

The more the merrier it spreads the workload.

By the way, will the twin linked HMG's that are mounted in the hull be removable? I'd imagine so since there are a whole bunch of variants of the assault tank, would be quite pricy to make many different hulls just for that.

Both the rotor cannon and HMG's are in turrets that drop into a socket on top.

Honestly, I really don't like the long, sloped, exposed upper track sections standing out from the central 'box'. I definitely feel that they'd look better covered up or appearing more integrated with the main boxy of the hull, with more of an angle at the front for tracks to grab and climb vertical surfaces. If the implied angle of the uppermost track section matched the central hull part, and the armour went along with it to cover it, plus a larger frontal angle to suggest superior trench or other battlefield traversal was integrated to the design, I think I'd fall in love with it. For now, I guess it's just not to my tastes.
