Hi In the revised army book for guard, the stormtroopers ride in rhinos. Is this correct, should it not be "or Chimara" ? Best Jens |

Since they are regarded as an "elite" sort of unit, to differentiate them from other guard units they were given rhinos. There it is correct. Primarch |

Actually, the Rhino does have a point or two of Point Defense, so it can shoot. Just not very well. Also the Rhino is faster than the Chimera. As an aside, in the points formula, the total value for the Rhino is within a few points of the Chimera. |

Hi Thanks for the input, i have not looked in the new points formula for price comparison. The rhino has 5cm further move and pd1(1), armour save is the 4+ as the chimera. The chimera hits on 4+ so on snapfire 5+ to aid in the defence of other units. Though the chimera has no pd dice. For all other purposes than the unseen/unexpected direct charge on the vehicle, i think that chimera is the better option. Especially for the stormtroopers that often operate more independently. That they almost cost the same surprises me, the usefullnes of chimera vs. rhino is rather clear to me, but its properly a matter of taste Best jens |

Well dangit I painted inquisitorial chimeras for my Grey Knights guard so whatever the rules are I'll use those models =P |

You are in luck then Stormwind. NetEpic Gold was recently changed so that the Chimera is the standard transport vehicle for the Imperial Guard faction. Admittedly, the Grey Knights formation does not normally allow transports, but a formation of Chimera could easily be bought for them. |
