Well, the new issue of Incoming is up on www.netepic.org .
What do you think?

IMO, this issue is, well, not the best issue for sure.

The Heresy fluff is strafing from official GW fluff more then a bit. It might be good for the people who know little or nothing on 40k universe, but even those who know just the BBB and a few 3rd ed codices will see the differences, those who are versed in the Fluff Bible will notice even more.

The article on what do we get in each of the new Epic releases is a good idea, but poor execution. IMO, I'd prefer to have the specific bitz photographed on their alone and then a listing how many of each are in the box or blister. This would make more sense IMO.

Anyway, this issue was the one I probably expected the most and was quite disappointed.

Please, have the next one be BETTER then this, will you?

What would you have liked to have seen happen at the conference?

Not just the conference.

Say, in the first bit instead of "Squats" there are references to Dwarves, Russ's wolves are called Freya and Firya not Freki and Geri and so on...

Sometimes the author has also taken the comedy too far.

Fifth_horseman:  I appreciate the critics as that gives me a better idea for next time.

As it happens the article regarding the models released for Feb wasnt something I was going to do originally.  Firstly what you have mentioned regarding listing whats in the box is on the GW site, I only wanted to show what they look like. I didnt want to try a repeat what GW already have on their site.
The other concern I had was that what I was showing was old news, I am sure I am not the only one who has visited the GW site for epic and looked up models and their prices. So ot was only something I thought might be nice to see. It wasnt meant to be an indepth article, I had enough trouble trying to get stuff painted.

If people want that then fine I have no probs doing that next time.

The next issue will be April by which time there will be a release of Epic models for March and possibly the April batch but I cannot guarantee that, thats also assuming I have enough cash to create that kind of article ???

Hi!

Let us remember that Incoming thrives on submissions.

Few submissions, few choices.

I owe Incoming quite a few articles.

Curse my lazy soul.....  :D

that is true Primarch, we do have rules and Cybershadow has given me a couple of bits and pieces but as for battle reports and painting guide we are very scarce on them.

It just forces me to do an article an issue myself and then edit the rest. Not really the way I would like it but there you go.

Saying that this issue cant be that bad, we will have good and bad ones depending on what you have as expectations are and what we have at the time. Its the best I can do    :)

Hi!

All e-zines will vary as to opinions on them. If it has a lot you like, its good and if not, the opposite. Even when I used to do them, there were those I didn't "like".

So, no worries, you have identified which articles are needed and we can try to get them.

I wont comment on the review of the issue as I have to say I havent found time to read this issue fully yet *Ducks to miss incoming rotten veg* - I know, shame on me....

Anyway, Fanatic arent going to use my Desert IG painting guide for FHM (we'll be onto Eldar by the time it really gets going... IG will be old news!) so I'll polish up a final copy & send it your way.

Feel free to hound me for painting articles if you ever want one from me - I could do with some for my own site, but havent found the time! A little pushing might get me over the edge & help all round :D

FHM? arent they a mag full of girls girls girls, really nice ones? No wonder your desert IG hasnt got a place, they are too busy searching for the 100 most sexiest women!!  :p

Actually the painting guide would be great as rules and more rules was exactly what people didnt want if I remember from the poll we had. So please keep 'em coming.  Just hadnt the chance to contact you privately for that kinda of stuff

hmm not sure about the desert bikinis but the girls are scantily clad.

The vote is now open for 2004 with Carmen electra as a favourite to win.

Back to the theme though, Tom, I am finishing the last of the army.  We will need to arrange a time that I fly over to get some games in.  Do you have any other armies?  Reason being that we could do a few which saves on flights over on a frequent basis.

FHM was the (pun intended) tag given to the new Fanatic Mag - Fanatic Hybrid Mag  :D

Painting article #1 is now in your inbox.

As soon as I finally get some I'll be doing up some Rhinos in various schemes & will try to remember to photograph as I go on them & do an article or two. Hopefully Fanatic will get into gear on sending me my stuff before the April edition

Darkone, who is the author of the Heresy fluff?

I'm asking cause I might send him some 40k fluff resources so he can be more on par with official GW stuff, you know.

I'm not darkone, but I believe I can answer in saying that its Tom aka "Netepic" / "Scarpa Floe" / "The Boss of the EpiCenter"....  :blues:
