Quote (netepic @ 21 2003 Oct.,12:31) | I dunno, on Kreig they had a 500 year long nuclear war.... | I thought Krieg was a Trench & siege war (read "stalemate")?

Quote (Mojarn Piett @ 21 2003 Oct.,12:54) | I just wonder what there was left to destroy by the end of the first _hour_. | Good point...but so many nukes would lead to one hell of a long Nuclear...Ice Age?
Besides, this is GW again, I have said it one and I'll say it again:
DO NOT EVER TRY TO MAKE SENSE OF WHAT GW DO!!
IF YOU DARE TRY THE =][= WILL BE ROUND FASTER THAN YOU CAN SAY (fill word - The Emperor is stupid sounds good..)

From the Death Korps rules - Epic:A
?Krieg was laid to waste when rebellion led to a 500 year campaign of atomic purging. The Death Korps now seek to make amends for their earlier heresy by martyring themselves to the Imperial cause. The Death Korps fight without fear of death, disdaining retreat and surrender. They excel in grinding their enemies down in battles of attrition, making extensive use of razorwire and entrenchment.? The 500 year long civil war on Krieg was largely static, with success being measured in gains of yards or even feet rather then miles. This combined with the need to man continent wide trench systems and defence lines led to the formation of large numbers of Siege Regiments. These regiments were not expected to take part in mobile warfare, and so they were equipped with weapons and equipment that were simple to maintain and produce. Siege regiments remain an important part of the Death Korps to this day.

Hi!
You can have a pretty long nuclear war, if both sides have effective means of shooitng them down. That way the winner is who ever gets to "sneak through" a couple....

| Thanks for that Tom - for some reason it appears my download of those rules went funny. It only had the 2nd paragraph about the trench warfare etc. I've downloaded it again, & discovered my copy was missing patched all over the place. Thought it didnt make much sense...... Ooops.....

Good point Chris - G/W does not do things that make sense - they just do them and figure it out later !

So, what we had in Krieg was atomic WWI. Interesting. I wonder when they give us the OoB of a Krieg Panzer Division.
It's kind of pitiful that the Imperial arsenal nowadays has degenerated to nuke-level. Back in the RT days they at least had plasma bombs.
