Post subject:  [NEP] Change in Terminology

I was thinking about some of the terms that are used in NetEpic and whether there are some clearer ones that fit better.
One I already mentioned in the Marine Army List discussion is rather than Light Artillery being used to describe things like Mole Mortars, Tarantulas and Vibro Cannon Platforms, using the term Support Weapons. I think this is a better way of describing them as in the majority of cases, the models are not barrage weapons, most are direct fire weapons, so calling them artillery doesn't quite fit. Support Weapons just seems a more adept way of describing them.

Another is Company formations. We all know the structure for building armies is based around Company, Support and Special Formations (or cards in the old days). But the term Company is a very specific term, and sounds a bit odd when describing armies such as orks or nids. My thought was to change the term to Core. So rather than Company Formations, we would have Core Formations as the basic army building blocks. I think it is a better, more generic term and allows Companies, Clans, Warhosts, Cadres and even the Synapse Creatures in the Nid list to fit under that term. So again, rather than Company - Support - Special , we would have Core - Support - Special to describe the various army building elements.

Any thoughts?
Anyone had any other ideas for changes in terminology to help clarify things?

That sounds reasonable. A much more generic term.

Hi!

I have no issue with the change. I think it makes their classification more specific.

Are there any other nomenclature changes needed?
