Yes, the stand is attached to the model.

I’d actually vote to keep them as one piece. The stands can be cut off or bent if you want to change them, but if you don’t then you’ve got the most secure connection you could get. I always find myself trying to pin those little stands and I hate it.

Narrow down the top of the stand to make it easier to bend, maybe?

No stand means less metal and cheaper costs. With a 1/8" diameter mounting hold that's at least 3/16" deep I don't think it would be that bad.

I need to keep the needs of customers in mind that may not be experienced modelers, or simply don't want the hassle.

Not only that, but I'm quickly learning that more pieces at this scale = MANY more problems.

Pointing out would be my vote

Pointing in works better for me, though the ball joint idea is gold if you can swing it.

Not to be a nervous Nellie, but the list I envisage using these Stygian vehicles with need lots of them, and this is starting to look like a big and complex mini....which usually equates to expensive to produce and therefore to buy. Any chance of a lightweight version with a smaller dorsal sail and no outriggers?

I won't use them but probably better to have stands than not as some will want them.

I'm also wanting a smaller transport vehicle too, one able to carry 5 rather than the 10 that carries and no sail. I might convert some from a snakey named model but if you design something cool I'd buy that instead.

Glyn:
Please don't chop up any small hoversnakes! Some of us need them for their original ophidian purpose!

Deacon:
Ball joint sounds neat, except I imagine it will be a pain in the ass to get them to line up symetrically. Still, it helps, cause I cannot decide if I like them angled outwards or inwards more, and that way I could choose once I have them at hand (or maybe have both options, to indicate different formations or whatever)

work continues - the Phantom Barge is very close to completion - shown here with new gunner and ball-joint sails:

Here is a break-down of the parts:

Lastly - work has also begun on the last model of the Stygian wave, the Revenant Gun Barge:

These are shaping up to be amazing! I have two thoughts though.
Why do the guns have bayonets? I mean I guess I get that it is part of the look, but it seems strange.
I would be really interested in a component that could remove the gunner and fit into the front assembly and make it a closed vehicle. It would probably fit better with the Revenant as the gunner mounts would make the hull shape more interesting.

yeah, aside from a full hood option, I don't really see what other work needs to be done to the barges. I'm quite happy to see the potential to flip those side walls so the chains are on the inside too, though I'm hoping that the Full Hood option will slot into those bits anyway

Assuming that you're replacing the side wall components from the Phantom with a plate to slot extra gunners into, perhaps a little extra bulk behind the gunner mount, to fill that dead space, but otherwise, it looks pretty much ready to ship out.

That new rider definitely looks better, good to see the bits breakdown, a little more than I expected but I guess it makes sense. I'll probably convert mine a bit more to my tastes and the seperate bits will make that a lot easier.

What does the rear side of the front cabin bit look like out of curiousity? Is it open or closed off with some kind of door?

Gun version looks good. I have a request: can the middle gunner carry a different sort of gun? Variety is good and it would probably be wanted by people rather than all the same.

Bayonets make sense to me, as a last ditch effort to repel CC boarders is some try leaping up and attacking.

Well done Don, love the Phantom. The Revanant, will this use the same hull as the Phantom? It looks a little too crowded, all those guns look like they are going to get in each other's way. If it's on the same hull, maybe move the outer guns back a little. Otherwise I would like to see them back and further outside of the hull.

Perfect, as far as I'm concerned. The relaxed gunner pose is exactly what I imagined.

Nothing needs to change IMO. The only improvements I could see would be add ons like the troop inserts for Phantom mode, and maybe the closed cabin option several have suggested. Neither is super high priority to me, though.

For the revenant, I actually like the clustering of the guns as is, but if you wanted to spread them out, you could do little winglets that replace the side railing blocks and held a mount point.

Perhaps it should have some sort of heavy'er main gun or missile rack instead of the central gunman?
