Assuming the gunner is a plugin, any chance of an add-on plug for the same place to extend the hood canopy to give it a more enclosed feel, and perhaps a chin mounted gun to go with it?
I'd be particularly interested in such an option if (also?) compatible with the gunship version, but am currently thinking about how they'd make quite cool escort spaceships with such a modification and the removal of the side-chains...

Overall it's looking great Don, as for tweaks, I would have liked to see the slit shapes on the prow duplicated on the sails. If those slits aren't view ports, I would prepare them to running in a Line towards the point of the prow (looking from the front they form a v shape). O and the foot rail to ride on the sides. :)

Any chance of a head swap on the gunner? Something akin to the phantom guard head would be nice.

I have a small change to suggest that would make it look a lot better I think. I'll edit the recent image and repost a tweaked version sometime this afternoon (within next 8 hours), hold of on sending it to be printed if you were going to before then. I can't put it up right now as I'm wild camping in an earthquake zone and my laptop's out of power again, will have to walk to the library.

How's the CBD looking? I haven't been back since October, 2011. I think all the buildings I worked on ended up being demolished except for the casino :( .

I've had a play around with the image file and have a couple of suggestions:

1. pose the gunner more dynamically! It really needs it. It looks static and motion-less as is, not really in a pose suggesting movement or traveling at extremely fast speeds. You'd need to rotate the body and re-pose the head. I removed the seat back then as it got in the way of new head pose and didn't really seem necessary. I'm sure you could achieve the position and pose better than my rough attempt (the gunner would probably look better slightly further back but I can't be bothered to change it now), but you see the idea.

2. Angle the side sails, IMO they look a lot better this way (would like to see it from other angles though):

A lot of it is ruined and messed up still. I've only been in Christchurch just over a month though and not much in the CBD so I can't really compare that well, you'd be better off asking Marconz who lives here.

I agree with the gunner pose (maybe not leaning so drastically) but would have the feet braced in such a way that it would appear that he/she uses the leverage (or they could be control pedals) to swivel the gun (and more obvious handles/trigger for the gunner to hang onto). The tilting of the side sails does give it a more rakish/dynamic look.

Now the gunner looks ridiculous. Like he' humping his weapon. I'm sorry but that's not a good change.

I see what you mean. Would look fine with the gun slightly further up and gripped properly though? It's a quick image edit to get the idea across of a more dynamIc pose fire the gunner and I'm sure Deacon could execute it better.

Gunner looks like a jetbike rider. I liked the original version fine....I can't imagine a gunner needs to lean forward into the wind and grip the seat with his knees :)

Canting the sails in is a neat idea though. That looks snazzy.

I think the gunner was fine, if it was moved I would suggest backwards, like they are riding a chopper bike. That way it would look like theirs more movement and still manage the gun.

If it's going to change I would suggest leaning back as well - like the gunners in the millennium falcon!
