I'm glad everyone seems to be pleased with them!

This got posted today on the 'Dirtside 2 and other 6mm SF Wargames' Facebook page, with a result; Five likes, then a query "Why hasn't GW sued these out of existence yet?"
I responded with my usual comments to fanboys and interested parties, mentioning the "Disney vs. The Sky Pirates" ruling and of course the estate of Walter M Miller and GW itself ( You know, when GW pinched a piece from a Hugo-winning novel for their background fluff), the Space Marine case and the loss against GrimDarkBits and others on Shapeways.
His response was "Interesting. Thank you." Sounded to me like the carefully worded response of a wannabe IP Lawyer, hoping to make a name for himself with GW.
I trust nothing will come of it, because as I also said, the creators of Art deco discovered you can't copyright a style.
Love these sculpts myself, though

Thanks dude - I saw that.
Not sure you can copywright a bare-breasted hooded woman with a sword...or mechs, hover tanks, chicks in armor, etc.
Here's the the thing - my goal has always been to provide nice proxies to the community - to use in whatever game they wish. I don't sit down and say "I want to copy this design" I simply sit down with a basic idea - "Huge Mecha with XYZ type weapons" and then I go. I don't have any image on my screen I'm working from - and it helps keep my designs admittedly generic while filling a specific battlefield role.
I think the big problem for GW zealots is that while the fluff and models are indeed amazing - all the lines are basically quite generic ideas. And its done for good reason - mass appeal. But you cant own the idea of armored space soldiers, good and bad elves, metal skeletons, Anime mecha, etc.
If you compare my stuff side by side to any existing model, you'll see how different they really are.
Now all that said - If I ever get a knock on the door from some lawyer - that's it boys. I don't make anywhere near enough with this to put up a fight. But - I'm sure all the lawyers know this, and so far, no letters. I can only assume they agree with the above sentiments... Not to mention there's plenty of other people out there making perfect copies of their stuff in this scale. The day
they get sued is the day I start to worry.
