They are "Post-Humans" - genetically modified and refined over many generations since their ancestors fled from Earth before the great collapse. They are nearly immortal, immune from disease, and have heightened senses compared to Terrans - who have no idea (yet) that they and the Okami share a common ancestry.

Well, I think I missed that in the fluff. Those are great minis, but if they're just going to be straight up not-Tau and not "real" humans, that kinda turns me off to the faction (OTC). But, again, they do look great!

At this scale - paint them a typical human skin tone and you're all set if you use them for a normal human force...

Fluff wise I thought the typical depiction of "Greys" to fit nicely with a distant human ancestor.

Also worth noting, making them post human, long sundered from earth makes the OTC seem a lot like the Post Human Republic from Dropzone Commander, which are that universe's "not-tau" faction. They are a breakaway branch of humanity that has augmented itself and is now recognizably not fully human (though moreso than this), with radically advanced tech, a distinctive appearance, and their signature warmachine is battle walkers.

I should add that the Post Human Republic in DZC looks nothing like the OTC. Apart from both using walkers, their units are visually completely different, but the background is superficially similar, though the PHR being an outgrowth of humanity is no secret (obviously, given the name).
