The problem is not so much that they're big (I have no problem with them having big guns) but that the guns look much too primitive and human sniper rifle like.

Drop the primitive sight based scope and replace with a slim barely noticeable scope (probably working with lasers and feeding targetting details into their helmet display) if you really want to bother with a sight (I don't think they need one, the regular Shinobi do without a sight or probably their helmet eye sensor acts as was).

The gun looks like a regular gun with physical ammo in a human style clip, this isn't right at all. Scrap it entirely IMO and make the gun look like a smaller version of the gun from this (flipped sideways):

For the sake of variety and new things 2 out of the 5 should carry rifle versions of the gun from this tank instead (variety is good and people will generally be using them as 1-2 heavies per stand of regular Shinobi):

At the moment I wouldn't be interested in them, but I would if they carried smaller version of these tank guns.

Wait a minute, I thought the OTC ARE human. What's this about the scope looking too human then?

The OTC are indeed human - thanks Splash. They aren't aliens or robots.

That said - I may work on the scope a bit - I just realized that they are looking at computer readouts in their helmets already - It's kind of odd to have them looking through scopes. So I may have them using modified helms which incorporate range finders...

As for additional weapons - I could do more Neo Shinobi with specialised weapons, but this will be a dedicated sniper unit.

BTW - here's a new version of the pic with "actual scale" image. (this depends on your screen resolution of course).

The stock looks good "at scale". The large scope on top of the big barrel is slightly too much, I think. Would be nice to see one without the scope.

Not a massive fan of the sniper rifle. If I bought any in the current form I'd probably cut off the scope and use them as a SAW. This gave a thought. When constructing units, rather than building 5 riflemen perhaps it might be best to give one a 'special weapon' of some sort. I guess I'm thinking a SAW so they could be used in Stargrunt 2 but this would generally be useful in many other platoon level games where troops are individually based.

Maybe the scope should be built into the helmet?

The way I imagine it it that it's a small camera on the tip of the gun that is linked to a HUD in the helmet.

I think it should have a scope, just not an old-fashioned scope. Maybe something square in section, long-trapezoidal in side view?

Laser targeting, helmet mounted, range finding, HUD displays will kinda reduce the need for a spotter miniature.

And a Shinobi with a heavy weapon would look sweet, though probably not something you want to do since you do have the Rigs, Drones and Tanks.

...but, a Shinobi unit with swords...oh yeah...no wait, I'm a ranged, guy, not a close combat guy.

You don't have a spotter to aim, but to pick out targets. It's probably better to have team of two specialists where one hits the target and another finds it, and equip both with the proper gear and computer aids.

that's the idea - 2 dudes spotting, 3 sniping per base of 5.

I think those snipers look cool but I think the guns look a little minecrafty I'm guessing the guns aren't finished if you ask me the weapons could use curve at the stock so it looks like a shoulder rest and the barrel jacket needs pushing back leaving and extrended clean barrel the barrel itself could do to be thinner with a silencer bulb end and it would rock! :)

PS: I love the idea of dropping the sight from the Barrel and putting an Eyepiece on the helmet

I'd like to see the sight become a sort of "sensor bundle", but i'm pretty happy with them how they are too
