Warmaster rocks! Plus as I can get it at trade discount via Miniatures Online the EPICentre online store (that was a discrete plug btw) my Empire army will grow in no time!

I have never played Warmaster - I always viewed it as "small" Warhammer. I suppose a Warhammer player would see Epic as "small" 40k though!!
I think this is the main problem with Fanatic games systems, people thinking that they are something different to what they actually are.
Cheers
Chris

Indeed, this seems to be a common misconception about Epic and Warmaster...

Yeah, I have heard good things about it as well. I just do not need another game to get into. I have made my choice about my next venture into completely bringing my bank account down to zero...and that choice is BFG.

Hi!
I think all gamers go through the same phases (although not in th same order):
1. Impulse gamer. This goes hand in hand with impulse buying. You see it, you want it, you buy it and you hardly play them.
2. Expansion/contraction. Once you see everything thats out there, you alternate playing anywhere from a handful or games to quite a few. You dont impulse buy as much anymore, but you definately play those you buy more than you dont. At this point you already have a good grasp of what you like and what you dont and stick in those general catergories.
3. Focus and exclusion. You've played a lot of games and you have spent a load of money too. You realize that time and money aren't as "infinite" as you thought when you were younger. By now you have a favorite game or two and play those almost exclusively. You still pick up new games and like to try new stuff out, but you definitely are more critical of a game and wait longer before you commit resources. Of course, you still spend a lot on games, but the range spent on is much narrower (i.e. your favorite games).
Now ends todays "psychology of the gamer" lesson.

I think you forgot the obsessive compulsive buyer.

That would be me then! I am famous for getting a 4k Dwarf and a 4k Ork and Goblin army and not using them once except as Celtos minis...

I have experienced the "Full-tilt Bozo" buyer. ?They buy hugh amounts of the stuff, then promptly sell it to me at "dirt cheap" prices, a method known as "Dumping", within 2-3 months (or weeks !?!) ?And I promptly sell is at 2-3 times what I bought it for, but is cheaper than you could buy it new !!! ?I financed my Epic habit through the '90s with such skullduggery ? ? ...

I think I am at the "Impulse Gamer" stage. My room is filled with GW Mail Order boxes, I have my chapter taking shape on my windowsill and my BFG fleet poses nicely in a shoebox on the floor.
I have waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much stuff.
Cheers
Chris

I used to be a kinda impulse buyer, but usually a buyer of stuff from my friends who had stopped collecting... This now means I have hundreds of random Warhammer, 40K and Necromundma items, as well as a few finished armies and fleets.. I do have an unhealthy love of old GW games and publications- my WD collection nears 150, and I have about 15 or so old games... ..How much have I spent.. I don't dare think. hehe

Don't rub it in man. I wish there were some of those types here. I can't even find anyone in my town who plays epic.

Hi!
Well, I have an unfair geographical edge. PR gamers a re extremely fickle and drop games at a prodigious rate. I have found NOBODY, that plays epic. While that sucks for gaming, its great for buying.
Whats even better, since PR is an island, I have virtual monopoly.

Everyone around here are frickin' pack-rats. Everyone is greedy as hell. Haning on to every thing in the futile hope that it will be worth something one day.
