Hi All, i have recently downloaded a copy of the V5 rules and dusted off some models (and added a lot of stars to my ebay account!). I havent played Epic for a lot of years and myself and a few friends are trying to get back to playing it :-)
I have a few questions if anyone would be so kind as to give me their input. ?
1) ?The main rule book has a table on page 8 that says chaos marines may use the standard adeptus astartes list. ?However on the right side of the table it states that you may not choose space marines.
2) ?Help! ?have a death-strike battery that gets out run by a revenant titan :-) ?is this meant to be??
3) Do jump pack equipped troops get a bail out roll if the flyer they are in gets destroyed?
4) We play 3 - 6,000 points on a 4x6 foot table, ?is this big enough or would you recommend adding another 2x6 section. ?I am asking as assault squads mounted in rhinos were assaulting on the first turn.
5) I have a lot of guard infantry, ?the Section HQ's that come with every 10 man detatchment are classed as HQ's. ?Does this give them targetting protection, ?as i had a titan shooting large barrage templates at me and found it very hard to place the template on a lot of my guardsmen without hitting a HQ unit. ?Do you have the same problem or am i getting something wrong?
Thanks 4 any response.
Glenn

Welcome to the boards, glenn! I'm glad to see another old time player return to the fold.
Here are some answers to your questions. I'm sure Primarch can add more.
1. The chaos player uses the standard list for his Chaos Marines, but he is not allowed to take Space Marines (those still loyal to the Imperium) as allies.
2. This is (as for as I know) is correct. Revenants are speedy and even in SM2 could outpace Deathstrikes.
3. I'm not sure, but that might make sense.
4. I've found that 4' x 6' is enough room for your size games. I usually play 5000 point games and my playing table is about that size and there seesm to be plenty of room. Larger games, say 7000+, will definitely require 4' x 8'.
5. The rule for HQs does state that HQs can only be targetted by barrage weapons if they are the closest target or are at least 10 cms from a unit of the same pinning class, which usually happens when HQs are near vehicles. So, you're correct that barrages can't target HQ units unless the meet these two requirements. You are, of course, free to make a house rule to allow it if, for example, the closest unit is not an HQ and thus an eligible target.
Hope this helps!
