with the new floater/flier rules they are to crazy or not.
What do you think?

Hi!

I think they are okay. They do have a 1 in 6 chance per hit to just crash and be destroyed. Pretty significant given their cost.

They are a good strong unit if used well, but put them too close to fire power and they dont last long due to that 1 in 6 chance.

a 1/6 chance of be destroyed, but a 1/2 chance that the hit missed... that was in the past too

now, only a few units are allowed to shoot at overlords.

squats are quite well now (e.g. pretorians & overlords)

First of all, welcome Outers! I hope you enjoy the forum!

I don't think the Overlord is too powerful, even with v5.0 rules. Getting destroyed with a 1 in 6 chance is significant. Yes, half of the shots will be complete misses, but the odds of being destroyed outright still require you to play the Overlord carefully, as Primarch mentioned. Granted 1 in 6 is better than the 2 in 6 chance of a praetorian's reactor going critical, but at least with a praetorian, you have to work your way through the void shields first.

Overlords are expensive. A risky proposition. They may yield big time, but if you are unlucky you will lose them quickly.

ok, i`ll try it... but i must sacrifice a lot of thunderbolts to destroy one airship.
that`s quite expensive.
