Hi, I'm going to play my first match with Tyranids. If somebody would share his favourite tactics and / or army constellations i would be pleased. Please if you post armies don't take too many points! I only have access to 2 Titans, 2 Dominatrix and so on . A 5000 Point army would be fine. Thanks Rommel |

Ok I have played against and with the tyranids. when playing tyranids: I take quite a few termagaunts for cannon fodder and have the hormagaunts and genestealers directly behind them on the field. I have carnifexes and a few biovores and dactylis(sp?). I also have a hierophant around as well. Tactics: Charge in and get to the enemy as quick as possible, you are bound to loose the cannon fodder but thats why they are there. Once in close combat the genestealers and hormagaunts really do well. Against tyranids: Stay well out of close combat. Use long range weapons to pound them from afar. I cant give a tip as to what units to use as so far I havent been so successful but I have made it difficult for my tyranid player to win easily. Any more than that and I am sure someone here can help whos got more gaiming experience than I ![]() Hope you enjoy the game |

Tyranids are a horde army. Rush them forward with a fodder screen of cheap units to absorb punishment for the tougher CC units right behind. It doesn't get too much more complicated. Always use big huge hordes of cheap infantry. Use the bigger pieces sparingly. Shalom, Maksim-Smelchak. |

Hi! Add some harridans with gargoyles attached to it and use them as a shock force. Drop them far behind enemy lines and attack vulnerable artillery or vehicles. Since they have wounds they are almost guarnateed to get where they need to go. Combine this with bio-pods and its a nasty surprise! Primarch |

Thanks for your tips, I think it is not easy to win with tyranids. They are really slow, at least the core of your army. The enemy has firepower en mass and will shoot my infantry to pieces. I know this, because I've done this more than one time before. The titans are very agile but stand alone with their speed !! Harridans may really be a good idea. CU |

The 'Nids don't have a lot of units with ranged weapons, those units and Harridans, would be my first choice followed by C/Cbt troops, based on the rule system you use ... shoot first ask questions later ... ![]() |
