Hi, These fellas have always baffled me. I remember using them in SM2 to fill out my guardian stands (along with the standard bearers) but i'm guessing there is no specific use for them? Looks like they were dropped on later releases of the Eldar Plastic sprues. I can't even remember any 40k/Rogue Trader 'heavy infantry' for the eldar, beyond the 'Eldar Attack' Space crusade expansion, which had some heavy weapon options. looks like there is a section mentioning them in the Eldar NetEpic army book describing them as 'Storm Guardians' but can't see any corresponding rules/stat cards? what do most people use them for? (i've got about a dozen in my bitz box and was considering filing down the 'cone head' and using them as IG heavy troops?!) Cheers, |

I'm exactly the same, never found a use for them! Your IG idea is a good one, they are very similar to IG heavy troops. |

Just based them up there and going to use them along side some guardians as Fire Dragon proxies (as i traded all my actual fire dragons away) Reckon it suits the Fire Dragon style as they look kind of 'Anti-Tank' and will make them at least look different from the standard guardian stands. |

Hi! The reasons for having those models is because you had support weapons for infantry in first edition. When second edition removed them, they had no set purpose. One of several things "lost" in the transition between editions. Primarch |

Ah ha! well spotted Magnus - its odd, as the 'Storm guardians' of the Warhammer 40k fluff are close combat specialists (las pistols and swords i think) Although GW spinning around on their own lore wouldn't surprise me! |
