Hi,

I was given one of the new style Gargants as a gift and notice that it doesn't have as many weapons as the old ones did. Given that it is notably smaller than a proper Gargant and only has the two weapon slots, should I play this as a Slasher Gargant?

Also, does anyone know if there a weapons chart that shows me what these different style guns are?

Cheers!

Hi!

This is why I did not invest in the newer titans of any army. Once they got "lazy" with titan weapons they made these models with generic weapons.

You can basically call them whatever you want and let your opponent know what they represent.

It's basically the "counts as" mentality of later epic editions. BLEH! :{[]

Gah! This is what I feared! It's like tasteless food, you could have it but why would you when there's a tasty banquet already sitting there? :tut

Can't wait for my next game of "let's pretend"... >:(

Hi!

Its not "pretend", its "roleplaying". ;)

I mainly use them as battlecanons or maybe on of the larger caliber ork gargant weapons.

I forget, do these models even have the gutbuster cannon at the models base?

The gutbuster cannon is there but it is smaller and in the midriff of the Gargant. It's no longer the fearsome giant cock-gun of old that looked like it spurted death indescriminately across the battlefield!

Anyway, all this chat about Orks can only mean one thing - after two decades I've finally started painting my Ork army!

I've been slightly bemused by the bolters on some of the Orks. They're so small that they look more like swords/guitars/hege trimmers!

Hi!

Ah, yes. I remember now. All the redone titans of that era are absolutely horrible. It's odd that they improved most vehicles and infantry over the years, but titans got worse. Is there anything uglier than that newer eldar phantom titan? BLEH!

You'll enjoy playing orks. Their unpredictable weapons are a lot of fun!

Two weapon slots? The updated boxy Great Gargant should still have shoulder mounts, like this:

If it doesn't, then it does sound like the updated Slasher version, which is this:

http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/mediawiki/images/4/41/Epic_Gargant2.jpg

Although it seems that in the newer rules, the ones with 2 weapons were just called Gargants and if they had combat weapons, then they get the name Slasher Gargant as opposed to the old rules were Slasher Gargants were just the small ones and Great Gargants the large ones.
In any case, these are orks, just grab some plasticard and rummage through your bits box for spare weapons and make some mods. Hell, of all the races WYSIWYG doesn't really apply to orks as you can never tell what their weapons are just by looking at them as who knows what the Mekboy has done to modify it!

Oh aye, it does have the upper mounts! That's something at least.

How in Frank's name I'm going to make the grabby Titan thing look like a Ripper Fist is beyond me though...

As Matman said above, it doesn't have to look anything like one. It can just function as one.

Hi!

Embrace the spirit of "counts as" Bissler, you know you want to.... ;) ;D

I wouldn't worry to much about it though. Orks don't have standard looking things. It doesn't have to have a certain look to function a certain way.

Let your imagination run wild. :)
