I was wondering if the other races lists like Necrons and Dark Eldar ect would be compatible with 2nd edition Epic space Marine?

Since NetEpic is an evolution of SM2 rules it should be easy to (de)volve them into SM2 forms I expect.

I would just play NetEpic. It's better than SM2.

Exactly right Jimmy, there isn't too much changed in NetEpic from SM2 rules so you should be able to use the weapons stats and army lists provided in NetEpic Gold to play in SM2 battles. As someone who played the SM2 rules for some years, I can recommend the NetEpic Gold rules set, there's some excellent tweaks to the system, and those that are not to your liking you don't have to use. Well worth a look!
