I just realised that we haven't had a NetEpic battle report for 2013 so far. Anyone got a game planned?

I think my next one will be sometime in February...

Maybe me my stepmother in law leaves(finally) for the weekend
but I have no clue what battle to play
maybe Eldar VS Tau

Sounds good Ulrich! Tau are a force that I amn't really familiar with so look forward to it! How many points are you planning?

I'm trying to get my Chaos stuff painted up so I can have a battle with them. It's reaaaallly slow work though, I'm painting a Lord of Battle which is taking an age because of all of the detailing. Don't think I'll have Chaos ready in time for a battle in Feb... And after Chaos I'll have to get started on painting the Orks!

My four painted forces are:-

Marines
Imperial Guard
Squats
Eldar

Any requests? IG is likely to feature as after years of waiting I have just acquired a Capitol Imperialis!

Hoping to get a few games next weekend if I make it over to the wargames society I go to. Might only end up being a single game and then some additional games of X-wing!

On a more serious note, as long as the battle report involves Eldar, I don't mind which of the other armies from the painted list is featured.

I'm looking forward to seeing your Chaos army in action at a later date.

While I'm not so keen on the painting armies offer, I do wish I lived closer to yourself and other people on this forum! It would be great to meet you all and go head to head with fellow forum members in battle!

I got now time for a battle
but searching motivation/insperation
I want to use the following terrain:
new fortress walls
river
suburbs
and mor
I will play not more than 4-6K and maybe a attck defense scenario
any ideas

If you are looking to do an attack / defend you could use your suburbs as the point being defended, with the river making it more difficult for land-based enemy forces to access the area. Perhaps use the fortress walls to defend a power station or something like that that the attacker has to capture?
If you were doing that, you'd probably be looking at the Eldar as the defending force, popping up from behind the buildings and taking pot shots at the advancing enemy...

I did a "airraid" game with (indeed) Eldar4.2K defending the whole table while Tau6.3K forces are coming up from the sky(inside mantas and orcas)
while using 2 armies fielding a lot of skimmers walls and river where more or less decoration.
Anyway it was a nice game while a bit unbalnced since airlanding is less a disadvantage than attacking from the ground.
I could test my Tau " fast respond force", though

That's a very impressive board that you used there.

I can see that the dimensions are, clearly, not standard. What were they just out of interest?

Its half of my big board 1m x 2.8m is about 3x9 feet
but if I use both I hardly reach the miniatures in the middle.
This way is mor relaxed and a nice size for amsller battles
