As per title: Here's the Tau book ready for proof reading:
http://filevo.com/0f3s53d39dfm.html

Still missing the illustration from Bans but it should be on it's way.
I'd still ask anyone with painted Kroot to come forward to get a bit more variation in those unit description pics. Also not all images are of a quality I'm entirely comfortable using.
Knarloc riders and Great knarloc pics are also still missing. Since there are rules for these models I assume somebody out there must have these guys modeled up, so send me those piccies ;)

Proofreading ends on November 1st after which I will implement the erratta and the book should be considered closed, so please do make sure you post all suggested changes within this timeframe ;)

Shoot away.

When did filevo start having adds :(

looks great, think those illustraitons are some of Bans' best work.

Anyway, skimmed through for consistency (didn't actually read it):

Entire doc
Whole doc is lacking appropriate form of paragraph separation, needs before/after space or first line indent. And then just p15 hammerheads has first line indets that are far too big?

Whole doc padding inside of main text frames could be tweaked, capital letters at start of first line are something touching/going outside of the box (eg p12, 2nd column top)

Use of space between *number* and 'cm' abbreviation, make consistent, you've mostly got a space in there but sometimes no space. Eg p10, 2nd column uses both with and without space. Data tables at end have no spaces.

Specifics:
first page, same en dash needed as always :D
P6 full stop missing at end of markerlights section
p7 'On a 1-3' should be an en dash
p19 moray page, stuff in tables, replace hyphens with en dashes and minus signs (as appropriate), currently it's all hyphens.
p19 Wing entry, value 5, description lacking full stop
p20 as above
p21 as above
p21 Wing entry, value 5, description lacking full stop
p21 engine entry, again missing fullstop first description
p22 Praetorians should be in bold
p24 Special should be in bold
p24 replace relevant hyphens with minus signs
p25 as above
p26 2x6BP x should be a multiplication sing not an x, minus sings needed as above
p26 you've got up to **** for notes, consider using additional symbols instead (such as a daggers † and deisis ‡ etc in usual hierarchy)

p25 placement of table on page seems a bit 'random' (eg different from pages before and after it, i know it lacks a title but still seems off)

p26 '** Not Artillery' last entry, delete space **_Not, secondy to last needs the ** broken over the line, shouldn't be hanging on its own.

p26, swordfish mark I, break 'Heavy Ion Cannon* Burst Cannon' across line as for mark II

What do the *s actually refer to? does not seem to be defined in this doc, presumably is in main book, bit odd to ahve them before not after the word being marked as well

Recon Cadre: costs 550
1xPiranha det.+ 2xTetra det.=500 ?

You have the crisis mini for the broadsides and vice versa. Also the Skyray appears twice for the skyray and stingray. Jimmy Grill's mini at the top of that page is the correct stingray mini.

BTW, love the photoshopped battlegroup on pg 17 :) 8)

OK, some ommissions/changes I've noted.

Moray and Manta: Should add the following to the description for both:

"For the purposes of targeting fliers, the Burst Cannon on the Moray/Manta are considered to be Turret weapons, though this does not override their existing arc of fire."

Moray Template - Single Burst Cannon entry should be replaced by Fore Burst Cannons x6 with a Front 180 degree arc noted, and Aft Burst Cannons x6 with a rear 180 degree arc noted.

The same applies to the Manta, with it's 10 replaced by two lots of 6 Burst Cannon.

I don't know how, but the templates on the Manta are different. Front and Rear probably doesn't matter, but the side in the Gold Book has locations that don't correspond with the tables. Rather than a redo, I suggest replace Reactor Link 3+ with Weapon 3+, and Hellst Cannon 4+ with Bridge 2+ which makes it close to the V5.0 book.

Army Cards, multiple cost errors here I'm afrraid:

Hunter and Battlesuit are both more expensive (100 and 200 respectively), though I'm inclined to let these go. Thoughts?

Manta Cadre VP should be 6(9) +8, and cost 1350 (1750)
Recon Cadre VP cost should be 600
Swordfish Cadre cost should be 900

Shas'o Commander special card should be 450 points.
Moray should be 5 and 500
Manta should be 8 and 800.

Shield Drone detachment should be 100
Piranha should be 3 250
Tetra should be 2 200

Again, I have the Battlesuits dearer but think these should stay.

Swordfish Squadron 4 350
Scorpionfish 4 350

Gravitic Submunition 2 VPs

Summary Stats for the Moray and Manta need to reflect the Fore and Aft Burst Cannon.

The correct wording for the Deflectors are:

Tau Deflector Shields
Larger Tau vehicles use a unique shielding technology called Deflector Shields. Adapted from Tau starships, Tau Deflector Shields are more advanced than those of the Imperium, Orks or even Eldar. Rather than hiding the location of the target, as with Eldar Holofields, or trying to simply absorb the energy of the attack as with Imperial Void Shields or Ork Powerfields, the Deflector Shield, as its name suggests, tries to deflect the energy of the shot away from the vehicle.
When a Deflector Shield is hit by enemy fire, the target receives an unmodified 3+ save against the attack. If it passes the shot is shrugged off, otherwise one shield collapses and the hit location template is used normally. Only one Deflector Shield is in effect at any one time but when one collapses the next in line is raised to stop the following shot. E.g.- a Titan shoots a Manta with a Gatling Blaster and two shots hit. The Manta fails its Deflector save versus the first shot, so loses one Deflector and takes a hit on the location template. On the second hit the Manta makes its Deflector save, the second Deflector stays up and the Manta is unharmed by the second shot. Deflector Shields may not be repaired during a game and provide a 4+ Psychic Save. Deflector Shields may only be collapsed by weapons with at least a -1TSM.

100 and 200 more than the original cost?

Manta Cadre VP should be 6(9) +8, and cost 1350 (1750)
Recon Cadre VP cost should be 600 Seems rather a lot ;)
Swordfish Cadre cost should be 900

Shas'o Commander special card should be 450 points.
Moray should be 5 and 500
Manta should be 8 and 800.
5 and 8 what exactly?

Shield Drone detachment should be 100
Piranha should be 3 250
Tetra should be 2 200
Same question as above
Again, I have the Battlesuits dearer but think these should stay.
Is this an open discussion? A final verdict please.
