Hi guys,
in my last battle(playing Tau)
I fielded some Tigersharks
while my friend fielded Thunderbolts

First I was scared that the Thunderbolts
would attack my Tigersharks in CC
until I realized that the Tigershark is a SuperHeavy vehicle

Now Flyers in CC are doing dogefights
and no hand to hand combat
so IMO there is no pinning in the air

Here is what I got for you
if a flyer is engaged in CC it HAS TO FIGHT regardless if its SH or not
this should represent the greater speed of interceptors and air superiority fighters

best regards

ule

There's no pinning in the air

From Alternate Flying Rules in NetEpic Gold:
7) Pinning: Flyers do not belong to any pinning class because while at high altitude they cannot be pinned at all – not even by other flyers. If a Flyer is on the ground it is considered a Vehicle for pinning other units, but like a skimmer it may choose to break off combat at any time and move away.

But isn't the SHT attribute for flier used for damages when armor save failed ?

So a Tigershark on high altitude can not be engaged in CC at all?
and on low altitude it can be engaged by a thunderbolt too?

Not being able to pin a flier does not mean you can not engage it in CC ;)

Once your tigershark has finished moving, your opponent can charge with his fliers and even if you're not pinned, you'll have to fight a CC.
